Personally I'd go with red writing.
I painted the caliper red first, two coats all over and 3 in some places. Then when dried I painted the letters using a small piece of cloth twisted to a point. It took a few attempts and some re-application of red to smarten up some of the messy letters.
Looks fine from a few feet away but it is obvious that it's a DIY job if you look closely, well worth doing though
It took ~2 hours per caliper plus drying time between coats. About half a day each inc drying time.

Red will look the naffest,Black will look the cleanest......so easy
you won't want to draw attention to the rears
while the fronts will look 'classy' by comparison to red,I think

Painted them on the car... Subaru lettering off someone on here, had some stickers left over... and the Brembo stickers were off E-bay...
I'd possibly paint standard subaru 4 pots black, as they are alittle small and naff... but, I think the red suits the Brembo's... and stands out nicely... and looks better than the Gold they were...

I painted my old ones with smooth gold hammerite and used a small gloss diy roller to roll over the subaru lettering in black, worked really well. no cracking and lasted for atleast a year before I sold them on.

Ok I have come to a decission.... Black with White lettering it is
Gonna get me some flaps soon too i think, although not sure where to buy. I had a great set from Scott Lowe on my old bugeye although they cost £150 and i didnt really wanna spend that much but dont want a "cheaper" looking pair.
Oh, and i've ordered a P1 splitter for the front to finish it off
