My Evo 6`s new FMIC
It was a bugger to fit, but due to my old one being in an unrepairable state it had to be done
Huge thanks to Paul Palmer for the expert knowledge and special tools supplied, and to Rob (Bottomfeeder) for the hours of work he put in to stop me stressing out
And the results...........
check the difference in intercooler size!!!
standard i/c....
The standard one next to the new beast!!
and the (almost) finished article
Just some minor trimming of the bumper left to make it fit 100% then its done

very nice cliff
glad to see you got it fitted, your other posts seemed to suggest you were about to throw your toys out the pram, so I am glad someone convinved you otherwise.
Looks great mate, are you going to put the mesh back??
and love the fact you covered up your plate in the first pic, but not the others doh !!
now tidy up your garage, you are bringing the tone of the neighbourhood down

Cheers for the friendly replies Incase anyone wasn`t aware I have been on here for 4 years and owned 4 Impreza`s till about a month ago when I decided I needed a change or a even just a break.
The standard i/c is actually quite small, but apparently good for 400 bhp plus!!!!
The new FMIC fitted is an XS Power jobbie, its direct from America, came with no instructions, the brackets didnt fit, the pipes needed modifying, the bumper has been cut within an inch of its life to fit the bugger and is now as flexible as an Olympic gymnast Apart from that its a nice bit of kit and cost £325 delivered

yes, but thought I would gloss over that
looks great mate, just dont hit anything or kerbs, or that flexible bumper will not be "flexing" !!!
Obviously from the state of the last I/C,me thinks the mesh in some shape or form would be advisable. But great job by wycombe's finest mechanics
(what part did you do?? )

Hello mate Im not a fan of the stick on plates myself, I could do a photoshop and see how it looks maybe I suppose.
I want 18" wheels, power mods and possibly some new brakes before I tinker too much with the personal touches, but I never say never.
My little dog Scoob, he looks more like Scrappy...........granted
He`s a bugger to photo, wont stay still for 2 seconds, that was supposed to be a shot of just the cars when suddenly he came leaping out between them and Rob was on the spot to steal a top class shot

Cheers Ben Its a 2 litre with a TDO5 turbo, so not a different planet but yes, very very different. Its real hard work at slow speeds, unlike the Impreza, but very quick when it gets set free. The handelling feels alot more composed than any of my Subaru`s, the seats are nicer and tighter (IMO), the noise of the zorst is so not a Subaru burble, infact its very bland at low speeds and mental when on boost.
I couldnt drive this everyday, it`d do my head in, but luckily I dont have to as I have a company car

Glad your pleased with it - I think I'll be moving to the darkside next possibly too. As you say, it's a more focused car. Know what you mean about the noise but i'd happily live with the lack of character at low revs considering they howl like a banshie when on full boost.
Good luck with the tuning, another one of its strengths compared with the Scoob. Wish I had a company car to rack up the more mundane miles in.
