Black or Gold wheels? Flaps or no flaps?
put the winter boots on the sti today and gave into putting on some mud flaps. before and after pics
before:-
during:-
after:-
the flaps:-
well, i don't like the gold wheels and i don't really like the flaps so that's a bit of a **** really as they're on to stay!
the flaps are out of neccesity as the side of the car is getting mullered and the gold wheels wear some michelin PS2's for the wet, damp winter months (replacing REO70's)
got to say i'm impressed with the different tyres though! a much different, softer ride and the PS2's give good grip aswell (yet to be in the wet where i hear they're excellent) a nice change to the banzai style of the REO70
i guess the flaps will grow on me

probably giving the impression i'm gonna rip them off any time soon, but they're ok, subtle enough not to bother me too much
so flaps and black wheels favourite so far then
i think the car looks lower with the anthracite wheels though?
glad i went for a small STi logo as well rather than the big one that runs the whole length of the flap

I like the small STi logo, 110 times better than the big ones

lol, these are not the replies i want people
*defending the anthracite wheels* they are dirty as hell and it was a bad light, they do normally look much better than in the pics still, the gold might might it look a bit brighter when it's covered in winter filth!
cheers for the comments

difficult choice with the wheels, the Gold look really clean and the dark ones make it look a bit shabby(in the pics)...if you know what I mean?
So it prolly looks a whole lot better with the dark rims in real life and as for the flaps?..well I think the newage cars look kinda odd without them

gotta defend the corner of the anthracite ones (coz i prefer them
they normally look like this:-
and if you think that doesn't just look the bollocks then you're mad
i do like the 'clean' look with the gold though i think alot of me not being too keen on the gold is the look of the PS2 tyre, too rounded at the corner and just doesn't have the aggresive look of the REO70. maybe that suits the whole 'dark and moody' look

and your car does indeed look the bollocks, just trying to impress that the pics might not be flattering the anthracite ones in this case

I'd have gold for summer and black for winter.
In the the same way I'd wear dark trainers in the winter and white in the summer.
I wouldn't want my nice gleaming alloys covered in mud and grit from filthy winter roads.
