No mate.. they look rubbish IMO carbon or not.
Maybe they help airflow but personally i think there are better ways of doing it.

actually another thought popped into my head - Those vents remind me of the chav individuals that attach a pulsar bonnet vent onto an XR2i.
Doesnt really work with the car.
