Default STi Spec-D

Thinking of chopping in the bugeye WRX and Volvo for a 2006 STi Spec-D.

Anyone want to share experiences and pictures?

Met a guy a while back who bought one late summer last year [IIRC he said he got a 4K discount off the dealer] very nice it was and not in your face which i suppose is the point. Gold Brembos sort of give the game away though

Got a tin of matt black barbecue paint in the garage for that brake dust cakes look

The one we're looking at is a delivery mileage, pre registered car and is a fair bit cheaper than list price

To be fair on the outside its only missing the 2 wings.. so could easily be made to look like a normal STI if you wanted

The idea is that is doesn't look like an STi

It's got foglights aswell though, so new covers would be needed.

Wouldn't mind a bugeye STi Prodrive though, in black

Its an STi with te spoilers removed, sat nav and camera detector and blue tooth phone built in and full leather.

Sat nav is crap and the other bits are cheap and easy to add. even the leather ca be done for around a grand max.

unless your getting it cheap I would go for it. your better off buying a cheaper Sti and change the bits yourself. that way you can eiher change it back at sale time or flog the bits on flea bay.

I fear the spec d will not be the most successful special edition subaru have ever done.

plus they shouldve done a full spoiler delete at the back and gone for a boot lip spoiler like on the A spec in japan ( or whatever they call it, the one lichfield have modded for the descreet t25 version anyway) in my opinion lol

Seems like a wasted operatunity for a toned down STi imo. May look discrete but then they fill it with leather and sat nav.

for clarification, old sun roofs were metal

moon roof indicates that it is glas and retracts into the roofliner, not just pops up.

sorry for the yank terms.... i am going to go close my hood and trunk, and fill up the car with gas, and shift the gears in my tranny. any others you can think of? er... use my cell phone and turn on the tv,

Core blimey my threads only gone a little off topic!

Thanks for the opinions.

Anyone got any facts? Whats the leather like? Is is it likely to hold value any better than your average WRX / STi?
