The old gear **** had become loose and was spinning on the shaft. It wouldn't unscrew as whatever it was screwed in to was loose too. The gear **** was drilled in to and a centre punch was put in to try and grab on to whatever was loose. After a few minutes jiggling it came off! The thread was butchered and there was resin everywhere and some insulation tape at the bottom I can't believe anyone would do such a bodge. A nut was screwed on to the shaft to re thread it, luckily it worked and I've got the new Prodrive **** on.
