Default Detailing worth every penny

Took my car for detailing in the week to a guy called Matt, he left a leaflet on my windscreen in the Trafford Centre car park a few weeks ago.
I rang him up last week to ask him if he could fit me in this week due to the SSO being on Sunday and he normally does his paperwork and stuff on a Thursday but he fitted me in instead.
Took the car to where he works from in Bootle on Wednesday night and he also comes to your home if you give him a bit more notice.
Went back on Thursday night to pick it back up and he was still working on it this was about 7.45pm and he had started it at 8.00 that morning, it took him around 14 hours.
As you can see from the pictures (which I took on my phone) the results were well worth the wait and money.

Below pics of the RS 500

He also had some nice cars in the unit where he works from a couple of TVR’s, Porsche and best of all a Ford RS 500 which as you can see from the pics was mint, it had two owners from new and 30k genuine on the clock, it looked like new, could not stop looking at it.

Matt has also since emailed me with a washing guide to keep the car looking good and some stockist of products to use.
He is also an authorised user and stockist of Zymol products, so I bought the carbon kit for mine which was £105 and the field glaze spray that Justin raves about was £19. The wax needs to be kept in the fridge, my wife is not to happy about having wax in the fridge but for £105 its staying there and if she moves it I will set my bees on her.

Really nice genuine guy Matt please find his web link below.

OFF YOUR MARKS | HOME - Car Detailing Polishing Cleaning Prestige Detailing Zymol

I like everyone else like to drive my car hard, but I also like to take the time to look at the car as well, which as it looks now is a great pleasure.

Once again thanks Matt.

Looks very nice!

How much did it cost?
Were all the swirls removed?
Did he do the inside too?

Ah - this sounds remarkably like Detail Matt (user name on here if you want to pm him) from Off your Marks:

OFF YOUR MARKS | HOME - Car Detailing Polishing Cleaning Prestige Detailing Zymol

He has done a great couple of group buys for us down here - i even made it onto page 3 of his testimonials.

Can't recommend him enough

Looks lovely... Always considered mine for detailing properly. But could never really justify the spare cash needed....

Just try to keep it that way. Im sure the good old British summer will think different though!

but it will still be without the swirl marks - thats the main reason for the work. 90% of the time and effort is in the paint correction. plus when its correctly detailed its far easier to clean.

We (off your marks) will be doing a full detail with full paint correction in June. It will be featured in a national mag too so you will be able to read the full write up on its 20th birthday present!

Perhaps if you could PM me or email me (info@offyourmarks.com) your requirements and I can go through the best option and associated costs mate - is that ok with you?

Kind regards

Heres some before and afters of the car as promised!

You Will note the swirling was pretty bad -

Heres where I tape off 1 half and correct it

Then peel the tape away and show the comparison between the origianal swirling and the corrected side; its called a 50:50 shot

And heres some afters - sorry about the quality

and heres one of the RS500 - patiently awaiting its detailing day - June 18th, 19th and 20th

Matt - do cars actually leave the factory with swirl marks like that, or is it carwashes that do it, or home washing with the wrong techniques/materials, or what?

not sure if the damage is done in the factories or not but Matt has detailled a brand new STI and XKR down here with bad damage. I'm guessing it how its washed on forecourts etc before we get our hands on them.

I was in the queue just behind pippyrips. The wifes MX-5 was not new and being silver it's a very unforgiving colour, it really does not seem to improve much but FMOB what a difference. Matt was a very professional and diligent bloke, getting him to sit down and have lunch was a hardwork because he'd see something else and get going again. Best few quid I have spent on the wife in ages.

Im sorry but half the enjoyment of owning a car is detailing it yourself.
Hats off to the workmanship though

I agree about that, however not eveyone can be bothered spending the money on the correct tools and equipment to do it properly. Or have 8-10 hours spare for paint correction. Plus the thought of taking a rotary to paintwork can be intimidating to some and prefer to let a pro do it for them. each to their own

I would say it’s the way the car has been washed! With the wrong materials etc....
Hence the reason they can disappear - after a professional polish
