Default New STi Lights

I won some STi lights on ebay a while back. When they arrived they where JDM HID spec lights, but no ballast. I eventually sourced some ballasts off a Nissan 350Z and the fun began, total bill, £190.

Started by seeing what connectors where compatible, typically the answer was none, so I had to build the wiring loom from scratch.

Once the loom was built I had to find a way of mounting the ballasts. Using some sheet ali I had lying around the garage I built a mounting plate which now sits nicely behind the fog lamps.

Next was to plug in the loom. It has been built so that it can be converted back really easily, although the standard headlights are knackered because the previous owner stuck some headlight masks on with superglue that melted the lense.

Once it was all wired up the moment of truth came, one blown side light bulb, but other than that it all worked first time. I think the front end looks so much better, just needs a splitter now and the front end will be finished.
