Hi y'all
I am about to fit a FMIC to my MY99 classic and am planning to fit an Apexi Power intake Induction Filter. Thing is, being a tight wad at the moment
, I have seen some on that well known site that are universal and a hell of alot cheaper than the full kit for the MY99. I realise that you get more than just the filter in the induction kit and I need to know what you actually get, if I could fabricate the extra bits/buy silicone tubing to do the job etc or if I should just stop being a tight git and buy a kit ready to go.
Is the kit something like 507-003 for UK MY99?
Descriptions and photos much appreciated
Ta!!

I just bought mine from here
APEXi - Power Intake - Nengun Performance
Fits securly with no wobbles which you need to be sure of as vibrations will kill the MAF on our year of car.
I only get 1 green light on my knocklink since I fitted the Apexi filter.

Cheers,
Hope you don't mind me asking but I know it is £50 when it leaves Japan with delivery etc, did you get stung with a load of duty when it got to the U.K. or release fees by the courier etc? Also how long did it take to get here?
Any one else?

I'm after a Power Intake filter for my v2 STi, do the kits from Nengun come with the mounting bracket and hard pipe (to replace resonator box) or is it just the actual filter itself you get for that price rather than the full kit?

Got mine from Flat 4 ebay, very fast delivery and the apexi is an excellent bit of kit, good fitment and looks good:

What benefits would these have over the standard filter. I would have guessed little more than 2-3 bhp. Must admit had not really bothered to check out filters as I had heard the oiled types messed up the MAF on MY99 and did not realise you could get a dry type cone filter.

Did you have it RR before and after Moley? Or were you referring to the quality of the build of it? My pipercross, is looking a little tired now.

The build quality is much better, and i gained 0.1 bar of boost. (was only getting 0.8 with the Pipercross, now getting 0.9-1.0 bar)
Also seem to get more wastegate noise. (Yes i know it isn't really wastegate, it is the blades stalling!!!)

The noise with an induction kit is quality, i went from a green panel filter to an induction kit, and reverted back to a recirc DV.
You can hear the turbo much more, a muffled DV, air whooshing, awesome
Had no problems with boosting though, mine goes to c.1.5bar with an Apexi remap.
