Cool Bored, So Heres My car over the 10 months of ownership

Thought i would put a thread up showing what ive done with my car in the 10 months of ownership on a pretty tight budget. Probably very similar to what most start out with, but heres mine.

The day i picked the car up absolutely standard:-

The First thing i did was spend a couple of quid and picked up the crystal clear lights for the front end, and this made such a difference to the car:-

Itchy feet then and i really wanted that Scooby burble so i picked up a fairly cheap aftermarket exhaust and a magnex decat center section. Only to find the exhaust was a little to short by a few inches and this is what i came up with:-

This was just tacked together to measure it up

Here it is fitted to the car

Heres a Vid of what it sounds like YouTube - Scooby New Exhaust

So what next, quiet weekend planned so i decided to give the calipers a little bit of paint:-

Had the car serviced and they said that the brake discs would need to be done in the next few months, and also with my calipers looking nice thought why not spend that little extra and get some nice new discs:-

Heres a shot of the disc's through the standard alloy and as you can see while the wheels were off i decided to put on my mudflaps

All of the above was done within the first 2 months of having the car and heres what it was looking like then:-

At this point there was something missing I needed some alloy wheels, took me a while to decided what i wanted to put on the car. I really liked the look of the PF7's but at the same time really like the look of the Inovit Replica of the Rays and in the end they won. Had a few issues with the offset of the wheels i had bought but they actually fitted the car quite nicely heres a few pics of the alloys and a few recent pics of the car.

Thanks very much people on taking the time to read this rather long winded thread but im rather bored. Hope you enjoy my little write up and like the car at the same time its my first scoob and it sure wont be my last

Any comments welcome cheers guys Ryan aka Melon

Cheers mate, take no notice of the dirty arches planning on cleaning all that up and maybe doing a little something with the suspension. Early days yet though.

Nice, clean, subtle mods there mate, well done.

My only dislike would be the stickers on the RAYs copies.

Everything else is really nice. Well done

LOL yeh mate they were off even before i had put the tyres on the rims, the pics with them on i was rather concerned about the offset so i took them straight out the box onto the car. Wasn't going to leave them on though

What a write up ....it's the best I've come across! You certainly know how to market the car huh?. Mate - in my opinion (coming from a Wr1 owner) I think it looks fantastic....and sounds burbleydiscious too!

I would say get a STI VI spoiler but am not sure if it will go with the colour.

I like it. More upgrades than modifications. Looks and sounds like a scooby should without being OTT.

Great write up!

I wish more people would put a link to a sound/video clip of their exhaust

Excellent wheel choice, are they the Bronze colour?

Agree - Car looks cool and leave the standard spoiler on. It will retain the right 'balance' for the look of the car.

WoW thanks for all the positive comments guys, yeh i plan to leave the standard spoiler on there i feel it makes the rear end look a lot smoother and when i can afford a set i think i will go for the STi rear lights but the clutch needs to be done first. Im also looking to put a front lip on the car but im undecided at the moment shall just have to wait and see.

Cheers again guys

Grrr i was waiting for someone to bring this up, yes it does need a good detail and every time i see those swirls in the sun it winds me up. Its all money though so its going to have to wait till i have my front splitter and things done before i concentrate on the paint work. Im tempted to try it myself shall have to see how brave i feel at the time
