Actually, because my mate doesnt believe that his own car is a genuine number one car, i scowered over the japanese and english used car sights, and found 5 other original stis, one of them being a wagon.

Subaru : WRX STI Version 1 No. 21/200 - Original Engine
Subaru : ltd edition version 1 STI
Subaru : Impreza STI 1

It isnt the first; sorry. There were two production runs of both body-types. The first run was of one hundred vehicles. The second production run was of two hundred. Subaru made three hundred vehicles in each body-type.

ok, i think ur right on that one, it says sti in the title, but spoilers small, and theres no sti foglamp covers........cross that one off the list. Anyway, from what I know and have researched the original sti was produced 100 saloons and 100 wagons. making 200 in total, my friends one being number 1

would be nice to see all 200, where they are etc, any original sti owner on here.....show yourselves

My brothers got a sti 1 wagon, one of the 200 run, will get the number when I next open the bonnet on it. Think someone had a website up and running on these, documenting as many as they could get, anyone got a link to it if its still up?

Were they all silver too? never seen a non silver one.

The 1994 STI did not have foglight covers (nor did it have a 'red top' or STI rear lights...). Also: the 1994 STI was alone in having a large rear spoiler. It was made of aluminium and was taller than the STI V4 spoiler, to whose shape it was similar.

Irrespective of what you "know and have researched", Subaru produced 100 vehicles of each type in their first production run and a further 200 of each type in the second production run (making 600 in total). The original vehicles mentioned the Acropolis Rally on their build plate and clearly displayed a number of 100.

As I stated earlier: your friends car was not the first Impreza STI manufactured. You live and learn; dont you?

It makes it one of the second production of 1994 STIs. Subaru only named STIs from the V2 (C2-Series MY'96) onwards. Before that there were two productions of the 250PS 1994 cars and a 275PS STI Type-RA in 1995.

I was the proud owner of the first recognised STI to leave the factory. It was number 1/100, April 94 on the plaque. There was a site up about this but I cant find it now
