Default Bertha from Oz

Had Bertha freshened up recently...

She scrubbed up pretty good, even if I say so myself!!!

& YES...

That's red metalflake added to WRC Blue...

Comes up a nice dark blue in the sun, while looking deep purple in shadow...

Last pic is from the Newcastle (Australia) Subaru charity cruise in November, 2007...

Hey mate, hate to criticize but I'm not a fan of the bumpers and the lights... Other than that, neat looking car!

Yeah, ME TOO ...
I'm not exactly happy with the bird-catcher type scoop either, believe it or not!!!
I didn't have much choice as I needed to flow more air over the Process West TMIC (New dual-flow splitter under construction)...

As to the colour...
I wanted something different that wouldn't cost an arm & a leg to repair/repaint if I had an accident ...
Or some a55hole keys it (Like they did to my last rex )...

In this country the word gash is also used to describe the female anatomy, however it can also be used in a negative context; hence my application Not sure why you would want to use gauche to describe a car

Just because I don't share your taste in car modification does not make me inept or tactless, it just means I don't like what you have done to your car...I'd be interested to the see pics of your 20+ modified cars.

Have a little look at the link and you will see how mod-phobic I am...oh and here's a comprehensive list of those modifications. I prefer a more subtle approach than just after market-body kits and lights

That's not the case at all; the badge does not excuse the crime that has, in MY OPINION, been perpetrated. I don't like it, its that straight forward.

This is a public forum and if you post pictures then you should expect people to post their opinions of those pictures. If you can't take criticism don't post. This forum used to be a place that you could air a different opinion without so much PC BS. These days if you don't post a sycophantic response you get flamed for having an opinion

well you wouldnt want me to walk past you in the street and call you a tosser because its my opinion would you (not that it is btw). Keeping your bad opinions to yourself is better than blurting them out ok. simple.

you missed the point entirely; if you post pictures on a public forum then it is not unreasonable to expect them to be commented upon. Walking along the street can hardly be considered the same can it.

ozdewiz seems perfectly capable of defending himself so why get involved...its because you are free to; its a public forum

so you keep on airing your opinions and i'll air mine...if you don't like it use your ignore list. simple.

Sorry trails...
I didn't really mean to rip into you....
But I did...
So...
I'm sorry...

I'm blaming the humid weather here, my story, I'm sticking to it!!!...

Ps...
NONE of those mods are listed in your profile...
Pps...
I would post pics of some of the other cars I've owned & modified if it wasn't a Scooby forum...
Eg:
77 Holden 350ci Monaro...
71 Ford 351ci GTHO...
69 10A R100 coupe...
33 3 window Dodge 455ci...
71 RX-2 Savannah Coupe...
73 RX-3 10A Sedan...
88 Ford 4wd turbo Laser...
72 Datsun 1600 2door, factory 6cyl 2litre, factory rollcage, factory forest flares, 14 produced for rallying, 4 still alive...

& I wish I'd kept every one of them as they are now worth a lot more than what I stupidly sold them for...
Unfortunately my ex decided to burn 99.9% of my pics, that's life, ay???...
I did manage to salvage a bad pic of the back of the Datto...

Usually if I don't have anything constructive to say I shut up!!!
But that's just me...
If I think a car is not my cup of tea (eg; ugly) I hold my tongue, as THEY, obviously, like what they've done to their car...

On another note...
Thanks, guys, for doing so...
BUT I'm big enuff, old enuff & certainly ugly enuff to stand up for myself hehehe...

I also own Bertha's sister, Bodelia...
She's a stock-as-a-rock (& staying that way), 75,000klm MY00, I bought new in 01...
Mods - Turbo timer...

So, as you can see...
I like it both ways...
One for **** value...
One for wink value...
I certainly know which one will be worth more in a cuppla years!!!

No crime committed there, LOLOL???

Morning Ozdewiz, no offence taken...It wasn't the most eloquent piece of criticism, i just have quite an aversion to body kits

I haven't updated my profile because the cars not finished yet I need to get my bonnet painted, fit my new struts, oil cooler etc), so being far too **** I'll wait until its done

Shame about the pics of your other cars...It would have been interesting to see them

Just you mind what you do to that stocker

I know what you mean about (some) bodykits trails...
My M8's & I have been having a laff back here in Oz...
Specifically about the 22B wide-body kits that can be bought for sedans & wagons in UK...
Although 1 fool thinks they're kool...
Each to their own...

I'm lucky enough to be semi-retired...
I have enough money to do what I want, when I want, where I want & how I want...

Yes, unfortunately, my exalways knew the best ways to hurt me but she's scuttled back under a rock now...
At least I don't have to put up with the constant whining...
Like I said, that's life, ...

ATM Bodelia sits inside my garage, waiting to be started & driven approx 250klm on weekends...
Never in the rain...
Never on the dirt...
You want ****!!!

Which is why I have Bertha, as my daily flog, test bed & occasional club-competition car...
Check updated profile for approx 25K (Oz Banana $) worth of mods planned for the next few months...
