Default Did something different this weekend - Trophy Andros and Monaco! - lots of pictures!

Well me and some friends took a little trip this weekend to Nice and Saturday we went to Isola 2000 to sky and watch some Trophy Andros -

Trophy Andros Site

Some nice scenic views -

Me enjoying the view!!!

and the circuit from the resort -

Some car pitcures -

One of the eletric powered Andros Cars -

Now for the big stuff!!!!

Alain Prost's car -

Olivier Panis's car (couldn't get this one very well as the gearbox was being replaced)

Some of the Kia's

Citroen's -

Fiats

and the nutters on bikes!!

The track -

Olivier walking the track -

Alain Prost on his phone not really caring much!!

Bit of practising -

Now the women!! <sigh>

Didn't get much of the racing as it was dark and camera not adequate!!!

Anyway after warming up that night On sunday we were bored so went for breakfast -

In monaco!!!

A couple of interesting cars that were not porsches, roll's, bently's, ferraris or maserati's

and the view from where we were sat having coffee... such a hard life!!!

then we drove the circuit as much as we could and flew home... to this horrible wet weather

Nice weekend.

We're staying in Cannes this August as part of the family holiday and I will be dragging them to Monaco for a day trip. Any tips for Monaco and seeing as much of the GP route? How long did it take you driving from Nice to Monaco? Is there any control (document etc.) on entering Monaco?

didn't get checked, just eyeballed going into Monaco, but there again we had a french minibus... as far as the Gp circuit is concerned.. it's fairly easy to work out.. the only bit we couldn't do was casino square.. as it was full of posh cars for some sort of function by the look of it..

Parking at the marina was easy as it was a weekend and is free at weekends and holidays... don't miss out on a trip to nice either.. quite a nice place in the old town / marina area..

takes about 20-25 mins from nice to monaco and 2 tolls, one of 0,90 and the other 2,20 IIRC..

couldn't believe how little it cost overall.. £50 filght, £50 two days hotel, £30 for bus hire (between 7 of us), 5 euro's each in diesel, and beer money lol!!

I used to ski in Isola when I was living in the area and really miss it now. Unforunately I have never watched the Trophee Andros.
Did you enjoy the twisty road from Nice up to Isola?

Take the coast rd between Nice an Monaco. Takes a bit longer but scenery is lovely, no tolls and lots of little villages to stop in along the way.
