So you'll be moving it in and out of the drive a couple of times, lol, that should see away 20quids worth of petrol without too much hassle.

Looks like a nice car mate, enjoy.

Cheers,

big tip here mate (guessing this is your first scooby?) what ever you do, get used to the car before you start driving hard
don't mean to sound like an old woman but ALOT of new scooby drivers have come a cropper within a few days of ownership as you think the car will get you out of any trouble. (i'm guilty of this aswell)

the REO70's aren't that bad in the wet when you get used to when they'll break away, it's cold damp roads where they're a bit crap.

looks a very nice clean example, enjoy

I've had my classic 3 years and I spend at least 6 hours a night at the window screaming at cat, milkmen... snails !

It never passes cause you love it !!

See how many people you can notice who really want to look but wont give you the pleasure..

Lovely car by the way

Welcome to Hawkeye ownership. lOOks lovely.

One other tip, it's about 8-10 miles before the engine oil is warm. I'd keep it off boost until then.

Enjoy!!!!!

Just wait 'til you throw a few mods on it. What was a great car before, but flawed, will just be perfection.

Oh, the nicking thing doesn't go. It's how you'd deal with it if it did go will depend on how many hours you spend thinking about it/watching from the window.

I get the old nice car treatment quite reguarly, its always a nice thing.

Also when waiting at traffic lights people wind down their windows and start asking you about the car, again very nice.

Yeah, some Prodrive blue mudflaps look smart, although pricey.

Check View My Scooby out to see some pics of mine.

Thanks guys .... I'm fkin loving it !!!

Seeing as the guy never went further than about 30miles at a time ... EVER ... its already had 140 miles last night another 80 today and (due to me dropping my old car back at work) going to have another 80 odd tonight !!!

Am trying to see what MPG I'm getting but tooooooo eager to press the all important LOUD button !!! and with the prodrive exhaust it makes a lovely roar !!!

I prefer (only just) the look without mud flaps ... but then again I'm am adverse to cleaning ... but then I would put 10 latvians out of a job .... decisions decisions !!!

A small aside those HID lights are awesome !!! but last too cars lexus and saab have been pretty good but no way near this !!!

I AM JUST WALKING AROUND WITH A STUPID GRIN

Nice to see someone so happy with their new STi.

You'll probably be getting low 20's MPG, a lot less the heavier your boots.

200+ miles and a quater left, you aren't 70 years old are you mate?

Either that or you have been doing some motorway miles....

With a mixture of driving I don't see past 220 tops.

HAHA ... yep 28 going on 70

I've been doing a 40 odd mile commute and although I took the back roads home (loads longer but dam worth it) 60-70% is dual and single A roads.

Also I find the 2.5 litre plenty quick enough off boost until I want to overtake someone ... or just buzz in which case dropping it down a cog is no problem. Ended up with 223 miles to 41 litres ... which is pretty good I reckon!!!

Aye, that would explain it then.

Have you get any plans for further modification then mate?

It seems you like the sound of your Scooby, quite a few people with the PPP have opted to keep everything but have changed the backbox to either an Afterburner Vortex or a Blitz, to increase the sound further. Again, view my scooby for pics of the Afterburner.

For various parts I've always found Revolution to be extremely good and very helpful, they have a decent website up and running as well, defo worth a look.

If you were to do one thing it would be to get a front splitter on, they really finish the front end off on a Hawkeye - View My Scooby.

Most people will be in agreement about the front splitter, in fact I think about 90% of people with a Hawkeye have the front splitter on already, its relatively cheap as well.

I like the noise but wouldn't want it any louder a: because it already attracts plenty of attention b: it's already not quiet imo and c: becuase this is my new company car for a new job and I don't want to turn up at a clients site and his windows are shattered .. but thats now give it a month.

I like the splitter but I live down speed bump alley and drive a lot of really ropey back roads so would worry about damaging it straight away ... looks nice though

mods planned are basic .... would like an oil temp gauge .... better wiper blades lol some of those sti alloy door sill plates and might get it mapped more for smoothness than more power !!! Sat nav/speed camera ... and parking sensors for the wife ...

Sounds sensible mate.

As for the oil temp, just give it a good 6min drive before nailing it, thats what I go off anyway.

I've actually found it to be 8-10 miles before upto temp.

I just leave it for a bit ... say 10 min .. which should have brought it up (water anyways) but I would buy Defis if they weren't so bloody expensive and they could be plugged in within 5 mins !!!!

Every "cheap" gauge thread seems to get shot down so I guess its temp estimation for me or defis ... when I win the lottery !!
