im glad this thread is here, as it fits in to my question..

getting my car back tomorrow after a full respray, and my next mission is under the hood, its disgusting......

anyway, ive been reading loads of site but what products should i use for detailing the engine, and what methods??, (what parts should i be protetcting from water etc?)

i found this link

Doug’s Insanely Cool Engine detailing trick

but not sure how much of it i belive or trust, so any help would be great, ill post before and after pics of mine at the weekend too showing the results, how and what i used to do it with too .

cheers

Rob

ok first thing you do is cover up you electrical bits up most inportant bit first then what i do is cover you wings up sounds silly but stuff you use could do your paint work in i was using all kind of stuff just triying too find the best stuff so what you need to do is start from the top and work on the bottom if you know what i mean. i did find the gunk was not moving the stuff i wanted it too so my serch kept carry on so i had too try the helfords stuff that move alot more than the gunk moved so i say get some stuff from helfords leve on the engin for 3 or more mins spray off with jet wash then hay presto if your not happy keep going un till you get the result you want just dont give up hope this helps you
