Default Foreign car road tax?

Do foreign cars have to be taxed when they are over here for a period of time?
The reason i ask is i have some polish people that have live across the road for over a year and have 3 cars that they park in the street (Drive way and garage are empty!! ) it pi$$es me off because no one else can park when they visit.
I pay 200 pounds a year car tax for my impreza that i hardly use and is stored in my garage.
i was told they are allowed no tax for 6 months but after that they have to pay?
Why are us brits ripped off all the time!

you are allowed a period of time before the reg plates must be transfered over. I dont know how long that is though. Its the same in Ireland....Polish and Latvian plates everywhere with no tax and insurance.

Car has to be road legal in the country of origin.

I think you're aloweed 6 months before it has to be registered on uk plates. Not sure how they could check up on this though

Just report them to the DVLA. If they should be taxed then the DVLA will sort it out. If not then I'll send me mate round who works for the DVLA collecting cars that arent taxed to be crushed!!
