Smile Before and after.

Some of you may remember that 2 years ago I sold this

I'd gone as far as I wanted to with it and I fancied a new challenge. After a 2 month break I bought this It was standard when I bought it but because of the weight of it & the fact it is 2 wheel drive it was already about as quick as the Legacy if not quicker.

Luckily it didn't scrub up too bad but there was a lot of work to be done.

The inside didn't look quite as nice though It was a little off putting to say the least.

Now after nearly 2 years of hard work it is about where I want it Last week I fitted a new front bumper and a couple of months ago I changed it to stage 3 with a bigger turbo, bigger injectors, bigger rs spec intercooler etc There are still a few niggly jobs left to do but I am happy to say this is how I want it now

I spent a whole afternoon the other week with Swiss Tony's VAX cleaning the interior It came up like new, I need a couple of new bolsters but they are cheap off of ebay

The exhaust still needs lining up but a friend of mine is going to take it to his work one day and line it up on his ramp I think I'll get him to heat wrap as much of it as he can because I still have a huge roll of heat wrap in my garage

The new intercooler is quite large

So that is the story so far I hope you like it.

That was a nice read, Paul. When I hard you where selling your Legy, I thought you where mad, but now I see why you did it. I can see lots of blood, sweat and tears have gone into her.

can definatley appreciate the graft that has gone into your project.

as a few know im pootling around in this currently...

its a cheap obsession to many people have turned them into track cars and abused them for their handling and low weight. i totally know where your coming from paul re. your cossie. i know a 205gti is in a much lower league, but i originally bought it to run around in and now im slowly falling in love with it. you just dont see many floating around on the streets any more. theyre all on tracks stripped out etc, and i want to keep mine totally clean and standard looking. sort scratches and blemishes on the paint etc, any impending rust spots to get re-welded and maybe a white refurb on the wheels.

its funny how i can be so particular and **** about something nearly as old as my mrs

good on you fella. keep the old school flavour alive and kicking.

(maybe chris will keep open that weekend he promised me for a good ol' valet of the pug - originally scoob before i sold it)

Thanks guys I dread to think how many hours it has taken to do

Andy,

I had to call the AA out the other day because a wire for the starter motor had snapped and his first reaction was "you don't see any of these anymore" All I'd told them on the phone was that it was a Sierra

I'm sure Chris will do your car for you and it'll come up like new, he did my engine bay the other week and showed me how to do my interior. If you do come down to see him I'll pop along and take you out for a spin

appreciate the offer paul, certainly will look into it.

if i can maybe get my backdated ssp/incap benefit thing sorted, i may get a lump sum around £1k, so could afford the petrol down there.

A cracking read Paulo It is obvious that you have put a lot of work into this, I should know, you moan about it enough

It has been great to see the transformation from a barryboys contender to this stunning car now and boys does it shift . Been a pleasure to help you out whenever I could (actually just spotted the mats, they need my touch me thinks )

And just to show everyone what a difference it is :

Andy, you are more than welcome, you know the invite is open ended

I love it looking like that and even when I open the bonnet you wouldn't suspect that it's running 350bhp that power in a 2 wheel drive car weighing just over 1200 kilos is good fun You wouldn't believe how hard those rear lights were to find
