My 1st Scoobaru
Hay guys and girls. I thought that i'd show you a few pics of my Scoobaru. I've only had it for 2 weeks now. I've got a few plans for it and don't worry, those headlights ARE going!
I'm going to be asking a few questions that i'm sure have already been asked before. As it's my 1st and i'm not really into Jap cars I don't really know much about them.
I've also got a few things to put up forsale that I got with the car. So i may need a little help with prices for them.
Here's some pics......After a quick wash,
Good idea or not???
Is this a good think?
I went a little overboard with the cleaning....
I've already changed the indicators to clears.
What do you think? You can follow the pics back to view all of my pics if you want.

Hey welcome to Scoobynet! And your first scoob!
Everyone will have an opinion on everything in here so as long as you have a thick skin you'll be fine in here!
Any way your scoob! I noticed that it had the "I" badge on the front is it an import, and what do you know about it's history? I dunno what that thing is with all the wires going into is but someone will advise you! ( some good peeps on here) If you are going to put stickers on it do it properly (Stickystuff) In the WYIOC section can point you in the right direction Cleaning, Are you sure that you got all the little crisp bits out from beneath the seats???
Welcome to Scoobynet mate use the search function on here every question will probably have been asked before.

Thanks for the warm welcome. Don't worry about them stickers. They were bought by the previous owner. I will not be fitting them
No the car isn't pink, it's my camera phone although it has faided a little but i will be restoring that
Yes it is an Import. I was brought over here in Oct last year. I am the 2nd owner. As for cleaning the inside, i found some Japanese coins, 100 and a 10. I don't know what it is worth though.

For what it's worth, I don't mind those headlights mate. Not sure about the pink paintwork though

I don't think it was me. I was picking a mate up at jct38 (Old Post Office) at 5pm. I went down Wakefield Rd then cut through some 60 roads (for a bit of fun ) to get to the M1 and met my mate. Then i was straight onto the motorway to Sheffield.
Thanks Andy. I got them from a Fantastic guy from CS who has a name almost like yours
Headlight aren't to my taste so they are going as are the rears (maybe up for sale! Hint Hint!!!). Rears are going to be the STI ones (and hopefully when fitted won't leak water into the boot ) and the fronts are either going to be clears or depo's. I'll need to have a look at other peoples cars on here to get some ideas.

I just noticed the lights are made to fit the facelift bonnet, so dont really fill the arches in the bonnet you have.
I would change them to standard lights, or go the whole facelift route. But to be honest I like pre-facelift classics, Im all for keeping it looking standard.
As always, each to their own

Although the car just doesn't seam "that fast". It feels like it wants to be faster but it's just restricted. If that makes any sense? I've had a Turbo Diesel and i've got an NA for a track car. This is the 1st Turbo petrol car that i've had. I just seam to be able to have more fun in my 1.6 Corsa (que all the ) than what i do in the Scoob. I know!

If its mapped with the Prova map it may be running odd on uk fuel. Do you know anything about the cars history?
You should get a kick at 3k rpm when the turbo kicks in.
By the way, whats your NA Track Car? Interesting to hear what you'd be comparing the Subaru to in terms of quickness.

:gone quite and sheepish: 1.6 Corsa Sport. Stripped out. It works out at 150bhp/ton. RR at 125.2bhp and weighed at 840kg.
I have been told that it's always had Shell Vpower in it. I have either used Shell Vpower or BP Ultimate. Don't get me wrong, it does throw me back into my seat with the power but then 7k comes around and change again
I get to certain points in either car and the Scoob might be only 2 or 3 mph faster at that point.
It just might be that i'm not used to or know how to drive Petrol Turbo'd cars yet.

There could be something wrong with the scoob, thats why I was interested to hear what history the car has, recent services etc, could be the maf failing and making it run poor. Or the fuel / Prova map. As the threads on Prova maps do say they are made for 100Ron Jap fuel.
No worries about the Corsa track car, sounds like fun. I often take my Fiesta out and throw it round corners, its a good laugh and a change from the scoob. I also drive a volvo diesel everyday - who am I to mock ??

Spare wheel well? I've got long legs
I take the front seats out to wash it inside. Yes, that means hose pipe and sponge inside the car No need for the hoover
As for the service.... It came over here on the 23/11/2007 with 63,905km. Alpha Imports had it 1st. Then the guy i got it from (swapped my Astra for it about 2 weeks ago) bought it on the 15/12/2007. He's changed the belts and has given it a service. Oh and looks to have fitted 2 alarms to it That's about it.
I'm hopeing to be going on a RR day ScoobyNet Linky so after that i'll know if it's just me of the car.
Cheers for you help though Ryo
