My Type R (shells painted!!!) 1/2/09
Hi all few years ago decided to bite the bullet and buy my 1st scoob a 94 wrx, after a few months of ownership i decided to get rid and buy a sti, id always wanted a type r but at the time couldnt afford one, so got my self a nice v4 sti. Loved the car but id saved up enough to get myself a type r eventually so the sti had to go. I bought the car in standard trim and decided to go th whole hog with this one, first thing was a clifford alarm, then the modding began.
car when i first got it
now the car is in good condition for its age, but the plan was to facelift it with a v6 rear spoiler and p1 front splitter, but my son was looking around it, who is doin the paintwork on it and said he would do me a full respray.... well one cant say no to that . There are a cople of minor and i mean minor dints but thought what the heck let hime get on with it. He is a sprayer by trade and has got his self a little unit with a couple of his mates that they've made a spray booth in, so it can be done as and when. The first thing was to get it under sealed on the rear archs, so in the air it went
After that was done he began to strip it
one with his baby R6 in the background
and for todays progress he's started the bodywork
and thats it for today, watch this thread there are some good plans for this one. Eventually there will be a super dragger on, apex coilovers, fmic and the facelift with full respray.

Progress update...
Over the weekend my lad has been very busy on my car, last night he got it all masked up with the front and rear wheels off the car on axel stands
then once it was masked up he undersealed the front arch's
that was all for last night i think it looks really well with the arch's black undersealed, today hes been up and primed it, first off he spot primed the areas where the filler was
then he fully primed the car with white tinted primer
while he was priming the car he waited till last off and gave the door shuts a coat of primer, waited for it to dry and put a couple of coats of the topcoat, 230 feather white on
he has also done the inside of the wings where the bonnet sits and the boot recess, he says it will be easier to mask up once its wet flatted for fully top coating
and thats all the progress for the weekend. During this week its got to be wet flatted down reay for painting, so looks like ill be having some late nights with him, really pleased so far with what he's done and any helping hand i can give to him i do, just hope it will all be worth it in the end . Also some teaser photos of bits i have ready to go on,
hope you all like

right people, ive been busy with work so the progress has slowed down a lot, but got the front mount just about fitted here we go
i bought myself a new bumper so me and the lad have set about cutting the new bumper
how it was:
and how it is now:
therea still a bit of finishing to do but its nearly there, i cant believe how much you have to actually cut off the bumper!! With the front mount you get the brackets with it, but in my opinion there not upto much so i got my lad to make me some out of steel at work, i havent got any pics, well not yet but they are more than upto the job. Also i cut some the the mounts off the bumper to make it fit around the cooler, so he's also halfway through making me some alloy mounts to sturdu the bumper at the bottom, it will be better and more stable than facory this front end when its done , anyway hopefully some paint will be put on within the next week , hope you all like
