Was the reply I got from the lovely lady after asking her how the hell did she fail to see me.....
14/01/02 5:50PM A31 In Farnham. I am sitting at a complete stop in the fast lane with brake lights on behind an accident 3 cars ahead.
Hazards on from the crashed cars too. I had left about a 20 foot gap between me and the car ahead when 10 seconds after stopping, the poor daft bint ploughs into me at 50!Managed to swerve what was left of the car out of the way of hitting the car ahead and missed him by about 6 inches. Thank god.
The car had almost been brought back up to mint condition by me at great expense when this happened, so I am a tad gutted. Still, I got all of the toys off of this one to transplant onto Scooby Doo MkII!

Yes she is a write-off. The pictures don't do the damage justice.
Under the rear passenger door the sill etc are crumpled like an accordian! The photos don't pick up on this really at all.....
I am still awaiting the final figure back on her, but it is looking like £7.5k at the mo, which isn't bad....
Cheers,
Nick

Oi less of that dumb Irish stuff
Where are all the Scoobynet women members to back me up do you all think that people are stupid or accident prone because they are women or because they happen to have been born in Ireland and are now driving in England?
Or are you all probably sick of it by now and couldn't be bothered anymore?, in that case I wouldn't blame you.

Thats nasty man. At least on the bright side you get to have a new one. Just make sure your ins get as much as possible out of hers so you pay less on the new one.

Oh for god's sake! I was so being light hearted and joking about the mad paddy woman remark.
I am amazed that you didn't come out with something like I deserved it now........
Cheers,
Nick
You get one that almost kills you and your loved one, then see what choice words you come out with

What the hell is this place coming to. Here I am, looking at what is left of my pride and joy, that I have poured 16K into since last march getting her back to A1 condition. That car made going to and coming back from work worthwhile. That car put a grin on my face from the second that I switched her onto the moment that I switched her off. I would find any excuse to go out for a drive in her. I have been completely carless for over a MONTH now and apart from my loved one, have nothing left that really makes life living.
I make 1 FLAMING JOKE on here and the good and righteous feel that they have to come on here and flame me. Aren't we all grown ups? Do we not have senses of humour? Apparantly a few small-minded people do not. Lighten up......... It was meant completely tongue in cheek. Sheesh......
To everyone else, thank you very much for your concern
Cheers,
Nick
P.S. Most women are bad drivers. Most Men are bad drivers as well. Deal with it. The daily displays of complete imcompetence and dangerous driving from both sexes on the roads are truly scary and they seem to be getting worse and more frequent
Doh, I so can't type...

That's fair enough, i was just making a point. I know that some women can be bad drivers, ive seen it when ive been out with my boyfriend in his scooby. Alot of people would have seen this post and said, if you hadn't of been at a complete stand still, that it was your fault just because of the car you've got. People nowadays just assume things all of the time, which is why when i said i hated the fact that people automatically assume women are bad drivers it was just a comment, not to be taken quite so seriously!!!! I am sorry for what happened to your car, i know from having a boyfriend with a scooby that it would have been the light of your life!!!! Don't think you should have blasted me like you did just for making my opinion known tho.

That's dreadful news mate. She did a proper job of wrecking your car. I'm not sure Freddy Star could have done any better!
Proof if ever needed that women are bad drivers
I remember (I think it was Rob Barron) got his new P1. On the M25 about 5 days later some bibmo decided to try and shorten it. I think she was renewing her lippy at the time
Hope you get it all sorted fairly quickly mate. As always, the worst thing about having your car trashed by an accident or theives is the wait involved in getting the insurance sorted and a replacement motor.
Regards
Kurt

Nick, scary biscuits mate, glad you're okay and getting things sorted out. It's a shame people take remarks out of context and feel the need to bite back, but as we know, there are bad drivers, good drivers, people who let things go and people who don't, it's another one of those things we have to deal with
Hope the new beast brings as big a smile

'if you hadn't of been at a complete stand still, that it was your fault just because of the car you've got'
what a great line to take that is.
IF i ever am unfortunate to have an rta i must remember to blame the other driver for the car they were driving.
Thank god you don't own an insurance company!

I think that I should make something slightly more clear. At the point where we had all stopped, there had been no cars behind me for as far as the eye could see. There was nowhere else that I could move my car to, du to the nature of the crash ahead. Then ages later the poor silly girl somehow manages to completely miss a ton of brake and hazard lights. I leave a nice gap behind cars in this sort of situation so I have a little room to manouvre. Thank god that I did or I would have taken out at least the car in front as well with the force that she hit me at. Both myself and the other half didn't hear any brakes from her, it is highly likely that she used my car as a brake........
I am lucky enough to resemble a tall fridge, so it takes a fair bit to damage me. The other half was in a right old state. she got bounced around all over the place inside that car. My seat snapped straight back on me, which cushioned the impact, but killed the seat, enabling me to hold on and concentrate on sliding the car out of the way of the car in front. Also, as I like my brakes, so I didn't have them heavily stamped down, to avoid warping. If I had been locked down, it would have been far, far worse .
Cheers,
Nick
P.S. Pete, hope that your schoob gets back soon from being 'under the knife' again..... Git! You have me ogling FMIC's now after looking at yours and guess who's going to Aus and Tokyo soon???

Hope all gets sorted soon, right a*se that was. Looked like a nice little scoob too...
Also hope you (or the other half!) are not suffering to badly from whiplash (I got ploughed off the road buy a portugese lorry last summer in the corsa (!) and know how painful it can be ).
Well done for avoiding the other vehicles! Hope it all gets sorted soon, most important thing is you are both ok
Jen
(avioding talking about women drivers - although I agree it's nothing to do with sex - there are 1,000's of awful ones out there!! ) <sigh> I have no self control ....

Nick, glad you're OK. Sorry 'bout the Scob, though
Slightly OT, someone actually DID claim an accident where I was stationary was my fault because of the car I was driving. Well, the colour, anyway. A Nimbus Grey MGB. Which she reversed into in her convertible 3-series. With the roof down. While I sounded the horn. I couldn't get out of the way because there was someone behind me...
Despite her protestations, the insurance company paid up very sharply indeed. Which was a result, anyway.
Just goes to show it takes all sorts...

Signed - A bog trotting paddy. -
p.s. The reason that we are ALL such crap drivers in Ireland is that we don't have any roads... we are planning to build one once we get some electricity and running water to have a cup of tea and discuss whos field we will use.

I'm surprised at you - but then I suppose that the only reason an Oirish woman was involved was because all the Turkish drivers had left the road at the last bend
FB from one FB to another
Sorry to hear about your car m8ey, cheer yourself up with something snorty.(Car that is, not Colombian nose candy!)

I had nothing really resembling a decent injury. I just completely killed my seat!
Fast Bloke, you crack me up!
Please, please, please don't get the ****, it was meant completely light-heartedly. Just like saying that all Northerners are tight, or all southerners are arrogant nancy boys! Please see the humour in it and don't take it the wrong way...
Cheers,
Nick
