Latest news –
Bob and Branko have done their magic yet again. The ECU has now been upgraded to the latest version that allows for tuning via windows and a better overall view of what is happening. The boost has been raised to about 1.25bar.
Although it has not been on the rollers yet, power is well in up on the NOS figures. It will happily break traction just under powering anything up to 4th gear.
History –
The car was built in Japan from a MY93 RA and has had a jap street cage fitted for strength and safety, front and rear upper strut braces and lower front wishbone brace, Sti 6 suspension recently fitted and the Advan super light 16s have been refurbished with new rubber. They sit over a HiSpec Monster Brake conversion. These are 325mm discs and billet 4 pot brakes.
The engine is solid block bottom end with up rated internals, VF22 turbo, 480cc yellow injectors, MY97/98 inlet manifold and throttle body, Piper X induction kit, Scooby Sport back box, mid section and down pipe, up rated fuel system, LINK ECU (programmed by Bob Rawle), Knock Link, Lambda Link, GReddy turbo timer, boost gauge and oil breather catch tank. The earth upgrade mod has also been done and seemed to cure some intermittent problems.
The gearbox has just had a full rebuild with a higher gear ratio, mated to a Helix pressure plate, P1 clutch and lightened Flywheel.
Body work is much as standard with a few subtle/practical changes including bonnet Scoops from Stuart Knight in place to help with cold air to induction kit.
The interior is Sti, with all the normal toys, mainly unchanged by the roll cage, white dials fitted and a Kenwood CD system, Infinity 6”, JBL 6x9’s and Rockford DVC12.
Oh yeh, and so much security even the insurance company were impressed.
Rollig road History –
The first rolling road result of 312bhp at .9 bar was on Power Engineering’s rolling road on a very hot day this August. This was the highest bhp of the day by 4bhp over a tuned 22b. (Later found out my actuator was leaking boost, now replaced and running much better).
The down pipe has now been lagged, new gearbox fitted after last one ate itself and HiSpec Monster brakes just gone on.
I then attended and won two classes at the “No Excuses” dyno day. I got the title on “Maddest Tunner”, and posted results of 349bhp/281torque with nitrous oxide fitted. Using it as a test day, tuning the NOS system to run at the right mixture and hopefully dispelled a few myths about running NOS and engines going POP. And all from .8bar boost.
Things to do –
Fuel rail mod
Refit a bigger NOS (75bhp) set up after I have had it rolling roaded
Bucket Race Seats and Harnesses
Sell It? Interested?
Respray? (anyone got any good contacts?)

Ah, the madman returns! Good to have seen you again Nigel, good to see that the big bast brakes fit under 16" wheels. think I might be able to out do that though!
Is the silver beast going to be NOS'ed up for Bolney, or will you just be bringing the other car that you mentioned?
