Default My new wagon

Hello folks, being a newbie i thought id post up my new toy

I took on a classic UK turbo wagon as a p/x for my much loved MG ZR, which had a Rover T-series turbo engine. It was running about 220bhp and was great fun.................... as long as it was dry!
Even with the LSD it was a somewhat of a handful in the wet!

It was extremely high maintenance tho, so i opted to sell it on.
A lad fairly close offered me a p/x with his classic Impreza, id always fancied one so i thought, "what the hell!", go for it!

Now, ill be honest, im a part-time breaker, and i didnt really inspect the Scooby THAT well. With the deal i got, i knew that i could make a good profit from taking the Impreza as a p/x and breaking it, especially with the mods it has done to it. However.................
After taking it as p/x, ive been driving it for the last week, and guess what?
Ive totally fallen in love with it!
We got a bit of snow recently, so i took it out to see what it was like and i couldnt believe the grip it has! I can see now why everyone raves about them in wet or snowy conditions.
Ive been MG Rover all my driving life, but ive been 100% converted to Subaru the past week!
I was fully intent on breaking it, but after inspecting it fully and sifting through everything that came with the car, it would be sacrelidge to break this car. It has only 89k miles, FSH, most of which is by Caulder Race Developments in Livingston, 17" OZ Superleggeras, 4 pots, Bailey dump valve, quick shift, aftermarket exhaust system, later turbo interior.............
Its 13 years old, and theres not a single spot of rust or blemish on the car, and it runs sweet as a nut (apart from overboosting and the speedo failing). All the electrics still work fine apart from the front headlight spray.
Someone has really looked after this car

Anyway, here is my new fav toy. A (Mica?) green 1996 UK Subaru Impreza turbo wagon (with dodgy number plate, which is for sale btw!) -

Later turbo interior-

Side-

Front-

The only drawback i have is the fuel economy. It is positively horrendus!!
Doesnt seem to matter how i drive it, it just drinks the juice

My ZR was faster in a (dry) straight line, and it could still return 30+mpg on a motorway run.
It didnt rumble the same tho however........................

BTW, whats with the plastic bumps strips on my Impreza? Were they an optional extra?
Im not liking them, ill be taking them off when i get a chance

Correct the plastic strips are an 'extra'. They are just for protecting the doors from carpark dings.

Thanks guys

Yeah, its far too nice a car to break. Ill service it and hold onto it for a while, maybe sell it on in a couple of months. If it wasnt green id maybe keep it indefinately lol

So these "bump strips" are just stick on? I can just pull them off?
