Todays efforts, lots of pics (been under the bonnet ...)
Evening all
Well i finally got sick of having a car i didn't want to lift the bonnet on, so i got to work today,
The engine is sporting an STI intercooler which wasn't up to much
All the fins were bent so I set about getting the broken ones off and doing what I could,
Thats now sorted and painted
Inlet plenum cleaned
Timing belt cover was flaking paint and rusted, so that was sand blasted and painted
Air cooler for the turbo was real shabby looking,
now painted
and the radiator cover again was flaking paint and rusted
now painted,
Discovered i was running with a boost leak as whoever fitted the samcos decided not to connect the pipe under the cooler lol
now fixed
Lots of pics.
Hope ya like
Cheers
Before;
During;
Inter cooler...
Left overs lol
Turbo cooler...
Timing belt cover sand blasted ready for paint
Painted
Made an STI stencil to apply logo to intercooler
Now ;
Cheers again

lol yeah took me a good hour to sort it like
Next is just general tidying up,
all my previous cars have been modified under the bonnet with paint and bling etc,
Just want a really clean oem look for once
doesn't look too bad for a 96
cheers

cheers dude
Basicly get a tripod
Take 2 pics from the same position
1 with bonnet up, the other with it down
open both pics in photoshop (Or similar)
Copy the bonnet down pic and paste it on top of the bonnet up pic
Then while you have the layer with bonnet down pic selected, use the eraser tool on a feathered edge brush at about 40% occupancy.
Then start cutting away the bonnet,
Its up to you how much,
I start at the shut lines, do the whole bonnet, then click again working into the centre to give the gradual look
Hope that helps lol
