Question

I can't understand why the 01 wheels look better on the old shape than the new. I've got a set for track day use, but I can see them going on as road wheels when the current tyres are replaced.

Ron

They look excellent on your car - I'm trying to make up my mind as to whether it is the colour (your DBM vs my BBM), the shape (your classic shape vs my MY01 ), or just the wheels. I've replaced my MY01 wheels for road use and was going to keep them for track use, but think I'll probably sell them on to someone else with the classic shape.

Having put the pics up in a hurry, I forgot to say that I've got Eibachs on it aswell, although it didn't seem to lower it a lot, I think it made a bigger impact when the wheels went on!

Very nice Ron, and Eibachs as well! Getting pretty serious now I'd say. What's next?

Cheers

Exclamation

I think that some clear side indicators would look good

Do those wheels come in gold too?

Rikki,
Think they all come in silver, but you can get them color changed. Did see a gold set on a white car @ powerstation, and they did look rather cool.

Trouble is though, I really want a spoiler too! can't justify the expense at the moment though, insurance wouldn't be too pleased either!

It's a good look. I've seen new style wheels for sale over here (16", but similar), but haven't seen them on the older type car. Mine's a 2000 RS 2.5, red coupe. I may consider them. IMO they look better than the original '98 5 spokes that lots of guys buy as second sets for track days. About the only thing they got right on the new style was the rims....oh yeah, the turbo too. At least here.

LOL!

Sorry RON, he's right - Even your Godspeed discs look dwarfed now.

It's a great clean look. Like JCM7611 mentioned, once Fizz decides if he's gunna get some new wheels for his MY01 there may be a set for my car to clone yours.

When are you next headed up to Castle Coombe? Give me a shout, and some of us lot will come and say howdy-diddly-doodly, Neighbour!

Ron,

Pukka mate, they do look very nice indeed!!.

17's sit well, just put 18", black chromes (siver looking) on my DBM MY00 wagon, must say the clear fronts and sides (IMHO) will definately improve the look.

evidence here ( I think )

http://www.scoobynet.co.uk/bbs/thread.asp?threadid=74845

otherwise, very tasty then stop after the huge spoiler

rob

(edited for piccy link...d'oh)
