Question

Very nice indeed. Are the colour coded front reflectors (next to the headlights) factory? Are they even reflectors or are they blanking plates?

Regards,

The reflectors on Carolyn's WR blue car are the orange originals, rubbed down, two coats of plastic primer, four coats of basecoat and five coats of lacquer - done by me.

The sharp eyed will notice the reflectors on my blue black mica car are missing - they were finished, but curing in the airing cupboard at the time

The blue side repeaters are GGR ones, but their smoked ones don't work very well on a BBM car - too washed out looking - so used black indicator tint spray on them - they now look black but flash orange.

Picked mine up the day before we took Carolyn's to Austria, so hers has 2000 miles on in two weeks and mine has 35

Carolyn's has full ScoobySport decat on. Mine booked in to do the same in a couple of weeks, within 24 hours of getting back from Austria had managed to get indicators and colour coded reflectors on mine, plus pink badge, Vision Plus bulbs and carbon fibre dash kit - and Wax Wizarded it.

Mods?......

To be done - 18's, pimp tints, lowering springs, drive lamp kit......etc

Finally, cheers to Robertio for hosting the piccy

Dave T-S,

Thanks for that info, much appreciated. Btw, it came up really well on the WRC Blue STi!

Any chance that you're doing the small piece of black plastic between the mirror and the door? I've been wanting to see a car with this colour coded but no one seems to have gotten around to doing this yet ...

Question

Also, how did you achieve the light blue indicators on the side of the car? Did you purchase them, or get clear ones and spray them blue? And what is GGR?

Regards,

Gerrod (sorry for the 20 qns)

The colour coding that I want to do is of the front reflectors, side repeaters, and of the black plastic supporting the side mirrors. Here's some pics of the potential colour coding (photoshopped):

After:

LOL - i'd be worried if you thought I was sexy..... Still thinking about the rear apron - and got to sort out the springs - damn holiday got in the way

/J
It's easy for you to be abusive when you are in Turnipland - just remember you are coming over here soon.....

Gerrod
No prob with 20 questions!
I agree the bit of black plastic behind the door mirrors would look good in body colour but too complicated to take the mirrors off and do it for my liking!

The indicators are available in blue - GGR is Graham Goode - www.grahamgoode.com/

JGriff
You need to get out there and get a few more miles on it

Kevin mentioned you walked into Welch's and said it was Carolyn's car

Dave - cracking looking motors matey, just a quick question ...

I know the missus's car has more miles on it but how does it compare to yours with the full SS de-cat?

Just wondering!!

BTW - its great driving through Europe in the Scoob, my missus is Croatian and I drove down there in August for 3 weeks (3500 miles in total ) - brilliant!

Cheers

Those look sweet. Must say I prefer the black one. Anthracite wheels on that would look rather nice, IMHO.

Hi Dave,

Very nice pair of motors! Just one question. I thought you were selling Carolyn's red WRX as it never got used, but you have now replaced it with the STi. Not wishing to delve into your personal circumstances, but I assume things have changed and it will be used now!

Be a shame to leave it in the garage all forlorn.....

All the best

Mr Squire
The plates are about to come off retention.....

PS - You and Turnip head are both ugly, I can get another car....

Phil
The decat makes a LOT of difference, even from just 60 miles (when it was put on)

Europe was good fun - last Friday drove through 4 countries before 9:30am - Austria, Liechtenstein, Switzerland, Germany

Markus
Carolyn's was only standard for two hours.....

Tim
Mobile at last Are you posting in works time in your new job already - or is it "research"

Jim
Well....long story, neither of us wanted to sell our WRX's - and it was Carolyn's idea to get the STi's (and she paid the difference for them LOL)

Dave - not bad going, I did similar 6 countries in 22 hours (France, Belgium, Germany, Austria, Slovenia and Croatia), great fun and the scoob is a great cruising car IMHO. Did you see good mpg? I bet it was a relaxed cruise with the added refinement of a newer Impreza ....

Good choice of cars, Chris L and Sal said they were nice .

Cheers

Canary Fairy

If you had a P1 you'd have got through at least 5 countries before breakfast

Carolyn, I really like yours (as it does quite a good impression of a P1 with the right colour and a big wing), but that other one ?!? Looks like a taxi to me.

Five countries in a P1 before breakfast?

Yup, but stonechipped front before you left the first one, and a warranty claim in each of the other four........

.....and depreciated another £2000 before the last country

.....but you could leave it in the National Motor Museum on the way back.....

Warranty? What's a warranty with a Scoobysport exhaust, or an ITG filter? Never mind all the airfix bits you stick on yours

Dave, do you and Carolyn fancy adopting a 36 year old kid? I'll only want the keys at weekend, promise.
