Default Goodbye Hatch

Well...tomorrow is the final day of Hatch ownership.... loved every moment of it

Some last fairwell pics of the car this morning before I start stripping the goodies off it that have been sold.

Gunna miss it I know.... making the most of every mile

Things I will miss:
Loosing traction changing up 1st 2nd & 3rd
People taking a "double take" as you drive past..something reserved only for Impreza's and exotica
winding the window down in tunnels to listen to the flat four burble..
Surfing Scoobynet for the latest "must have"

Things I will not miss:
Having to find a Shell garage
The road noise.. Quiet they are not
The fuel economy
Subaru UK

To all who have bought bits.... I'll pm you with payment details shortly.

Jim..payment received for the Zun Sport Lower grill thank you

Once remapped it'll be 320bhp and 550lbs, so supercharger territory..

We'll the very best of luck Kyle.

I'm sure you'll still post on SN though.

Regarding your running costs statement
How does the RRS compare to the STI?

Cheers

Cheers Shaun

You may see me lurking here and there

Insurance is cheaper, mpg is better, servicing will probably be on a par mind you.
Projected residual is better too... bearing in mind my local UK Dealer offered me £8k for the STI.....*******.... lost out on a sale as a result though... hence the not missing Subaru UK quote..... full of themselves and their own self importance...

Having run my D3 for 2 years I know they all need a good warranty..

Once the garage's has expired I'll pick up a 3rd party policy to cover the expensive bits.

I'm sure you'll cope! SN must be the biggest source of male induced debt in the UK

I'm hoping I'm not going to mod the RRS too much... but time will tell..

Yes really..

My STI is 20mpg (even though the puter says 23.4 )

The Discovery says 29 and is getting 27

The TDV8 is quoted at 25 so 22+ would still beat the STI...plus diesel is cheaper than V-Power

Impreza insurance was £550odd

TDV8 is £430

Hope the Rangie has a good warranty.

We're curently doing a turbo replacement on a TDV8 sport....The whole body needs to come off the chassis to gain access. And the owner is going to pay for the labour too...owch.

Seriously mate, nice motors, but watch out for its wallet emptying habits; as the engines are nigh on impossible to work on without removing a load of stuff in the way (like the body ).

Enjoy the new motor it looks good
This couple went around the world with a TDV6.
As others have said when they needed to replace the engine the whole body had to come out from the chassis
I hope you don't need the warranty.
Here you can find their calendar (there are some excellent photos along with a diary of the car).

55,000miles on a 2007 model year

That's Land Rover for you; its essentially a Rangie body codged onto a Disco chassis.

I gotta try and convince you to keep or get another:

You said:

Things I will not miss:
Having to find a Shell garage
The road noise.. Quiet they are not
The fuel economy
Subaru UK

Fuel economy is WORSE than a scoob. My boss had one, trundling along at 20MPG if he was lucky so all you will be doing is finding ANY garage instead of enjoying a drive.

You'll get keyed coz chavs dont like people "flashing the cash" with a motor like that.
Diesel is as expensive as V-Power. You can always go to momentum, its still better than the normal RON.
Insurance is pants.
Parts will be a nightmare.
Parking will be a biatch.
It will still be slow, a biatch to manouveur and NO FUN AT ALL.
Road noise might be reduced, but it will still be a tractor and very loud in these cold mornings! brrrrr.

All I can say is, you'll either be buying another scoob (saloon maybe?) or you're getting too old!

On the plus side, it does have a webasto heater.

Now all you need to do is to figure out how to fire it up remotely to deforst it from the comfort of your own house.....

I was going to post up saying you're having a laugh if you think it'll be cheaper to fuel up.. But everyone else beat me to it lol.

They really are one of those cars that you need to have serious disposable income to run (as ALi-B says for example) I'd be wanting a water tight warranty on a second hand one.

My transit uses more fuel than my impreza, let alone a V8 range rover lol
