is that a 2010 car or a 2011, as it has the Racaro's?

how do you find the car?

330s...

didn't they have the following spec above the wrx sti :

recaros
ppp
push button
sat nav
18 inch wheels

did it have different suspension? or prodrive springs?

was like 4.4k over the standard sti price or something like that.

White is nice it has to be said :-

Cusco Kid's from the hatch thread

08/09 cars i've looked at have still key start, STi bucket seats.

the recaro's look to be on the later 10/11 cars....... i know the MY11 has all the above.

are you looking at the 330s or the 330r's ? I thought the 330s all came with the buckets. The R's are PPP+wheels only. Perhaps they changed em for 10/11. Not sure tbh.

Excluding the latest 2010 cars we have as follows:

Std STI
standard Spec

330R
PPP
Lustic Wheels

330s
satnav
Recaros
Push button start
PPP
Lustic Silver wheels

All have Buckets type seats but only 330s has the recaros

Only thing that may catch you out are Euro spec cars which are generally spec'd higher than UK dealer cars.

My STI for example is the same as UK but with heated seats, they also do a 'premium spec' Euro car that is the same as a 330s apart from the PPP.

the 2010/11 facelift impreza comes with everything the 330S had as standard

18" wheels
sat nav/bluetooth
recaros
push start

however it doesnt have the privacy glass or PPP or 330PS, just the standard

2.5LITRE DOHC TURBO SUBARU BOXER

  • MAX OUTPUT: 300 PS / 6,000 rpm
  • MAX TORQUE: 407Nm / 4,000 rpm
  • FUEL ECONOMY: 26.9 mpg
  • CO2 EMISSIONS (EU V STANDARD): 243 g/km
but then it has had a redesigned suspension for an even greater connection between driver and vehicle. After extensive testing the 2011 WRX STI’s suspension is stiffer and tuned for greater precision. It also lowers the WRX STI for tighter cornering and more immediate steering response. With this new suspension setup the WRX STI gives you intuitive feedback and control that makes driving pure inspiration.

hence the massive jump of the base price

when i bought mine, standard STI may 2009 i had considered the 330S but when i worked out the bits i wanted to fit to mine it worked out i could get a whole lot more for the same money as I wasnt keen on the recaros for everyday driving, to restrictive and the horrid wheels (IMO)

so my list of accessories compiled of:

PPP (upgraded the power to 330PS)
Prodrive spring kit
Tinted windows
Carbon pillar trims
Armrest extension
Subaru front grille
Fog lights
Prodrive mudflaps
Prodrive quickshift
STI front lip
STI lower front lip
STI carpet mats
Exhaust trims

this was it when i got it home from the dealers

not the greatest looking thing!!!

but i had the styling planned and my RB320 wheels to go straight on

and as it stands now

i spoke to the tech director and asked if my saloon was to be graced with a PPP pack, he said that the project was on his desk to be signed off, but he hadnt dont it yet.

I presume he signs it, prodrive do ****loads of tests and then it gets released.

With the new 2011s having a diff Map on the ECU to come keep up to EU standards im only presuming they cant use the old PPP, Plus the saloons exhaust i think may be diff

I'd be surprised if prodrive were developing a ppp for the new saloon, I thought cosworth were the new partner to Subaru UK and prodrive had sold off all their Subaru stock.

Who knows, what with the timely delivery and success of the 50k cosworth's Wouldn't surprise me if prodrive do it either, although they probably wont be bending over backwards anytime soon.

apart from the satnav/trim extras, are the R & S the same engine with a similar 330 re map?

are they performance wise as good as each other?

same engines same maps on the ecu regardless, best way unless your looking at warrenty is a bespoke map better suited to the engine, off the shelf is utter rubbish and has been blamed for failures occuring.

jo wants a car still under warranty and they buy some extra (as her focus has had extended and used it 4x over! with what was paid)... so a std subaru off the shelf remap wouldn't bother us really.

its just the extras a S has.. the seats, keyless, satnav..... not sure they justify £3k more?

For 3k you can probably get better seats, better nav and better rims and taylor the car to your own tastes rather than having what Subaru decide you want.

The Recaros are nice though and the keyless entry is a gimmick but I've been told a handy one to have.

If you are bargaining on a warranty you best not mod the car at all, no backboxes, new panel filters etc or you'll say good bye to any claims.

yeah thats it Plus its called a 330s even though u can make the STI the same it will never be an S in the LOG book hence will hold the price more, not a lot but more.

The sat Navs 2k but aftermarket ones are as good if not better.

If your buying cash go 330s if your financing go new 2011 differance wont be massive

Recaro's are very nice indeed.
The keyless, whilst I understand why some may think a bit of a gimmick, is fantastic.
You realise how much of a nuisance keys really are.
