Default Oil Cooler location

More of a request please folks.

Looking to add an oil cooler to the car ready for track days etc.

Trouble is, not sure where to put mine? In the position of the TMIC, front grille or my option of making another intake for the fog lamp cover and run it in there?

Please would you mind posting your location for the pil cooler?

Cheers
Steve

Mine is between my Fmic and in front of the rad, so can't really be seen but works very well. 19 row Mocal.

Same here! I put mine where the air con radiator used to be. Low and as close to the front as possible. If running a FMIC mount it behind the cold side of it as to reduce heat soak.

Heres a pic

Could you post some pics up of the cooler and the pipework please?

I've mounted a 19 row mocal cooler on the passenger side but not sure what route to take with the pipework as dont really want it running too close to the headers, was thinking of remounting it on the drivers side.

Mine is hung vertically on the passenger side and so my AC is still there on the other side and still works as per normal. It has no impact on the AC.

Sweet lord,

That's perfect Frayz!!

Silly question but why angled even with the ducting? Also with the pipe work going at back at a 90 degree angle when returning to the sanwich plate?

Angled because its quite a bit bigger than the photo suggests and it was the neatest way of fitting it there. Yes the oil unions are 180 deg fittings to go back to the thermostat.

Dont know if those pics help give you some ideas mate. If youre in Essex direction, come have a look

Frayz, was't knoocking it mate you know me. Was just asking matey. Can under stand for location and angle as not a great deal of room.
Was going to put mine on the bumper beam on that side but now not so sure?

Not in the East side for a while mate unless Angers wants to go ******* again Cars looking good mate. Full credit to you.

Should have mine in and set up by end of Feb. Just need to get a new oil filter but not sure what one. Don't fancy putting the new small blue ones on as I've heard more than three people now say they come off.
I'm bailing out of fitting my next mods this time due to time (lack of) with my wedding coming up and need to spend more time with my two kiddies.

Steve
