Didn't got mad with the rebuild. V8 cross drilled crank, V9 rods, Pistons were good anyway. I think it was ACL race bearings. I'm not a big horse power fan to be honest. I wanted driveability, so with the VF28 on it i'm expecting around 320hp when its mapped in a couple of weeks. I've uprated all the cradle bushes around the diffs, its got Bilstein coilovers, zero sports ARB's, 4 Pot GTs on the front with 328mm two piece discs.
I like twisty roads, hence handling and power i can use

I didn't want big power with my Type R build, but as I found I needed a front mount and Mark at Thwaites had a VF35 lying around decided to change from the VF22. Slightly more power, and quite a bit more torque. Graham at enginemapper.co.uk has just mapped it to 331 bhp which I think is a sweet spot for road use (ample )
Here's mine

Looking good Steve
Just had a cheeky little re-map on mine. 550's and fitted my TD05-20g, its around 350 mark, plenty for me. But like you, i've concentrated on the brakes and handling first. No point in having a little power if you can use it!
