I know RareRims knock out some factory seconds on the 'bay' but my 8x18 Rotas came in at £900 with tyres and that was heavily discounted

Thats why! Always a catch.

Any horror stories about using copies? Surely they must weigh a lot more. 9.5j on a bug would require arch work I am guessing?

I'm running 9.5Jx18 Rota Grid on mine wagon and i don't have rolled arches...

What i know you will need coilovers for 9.5J if you don't want get your arches rolled,i'm running coilovers with rear adjustable rear lateral links and as i said i don't have rolled arches at rear

If you have coilovers you will be OK,mine wheels don't rub and really we don't have any spacers.

Not sure about the weight...

But i would recommend after fitting Rota get your wheel alignment done,we are done wheel alignment at Dixon Motorsport for great price

How do you find handling & on full lock do you have any problems? Ye currently got 18"x8J Compomotives with fast road setup done previously by Scoobyclinic.

I may go for the 17's but unsure if i will notice any difference in response going from 18's down to 17's

These are Rota Grids right?

Yes these wheels are Rota Grid Drift,on our car handling is amazing,i would say much better than on OE Shocks and lowering springs,on full lock are OK,and really our wagon is everyday car

Rotas ARE cheap copies

And the only way you don't get rubbing when running 9.5js is being at a ridiculous ride height, and if you're running that high there's no point having coilovers.

Was going to say rota is a copy wheel also. There just getting a name for themselves. Personally think 9.5 is too wide for the Subaru. Although staggered may look good. O don't see the point in stretching tyres on a performance car. A euro one yes performance no.

what is the most flush offset/width rims you could run on a bug eye sti without any work done?

if only the stock gold rims were wider with more aggressive offset, that would be awesome
