Have i done the right thing ?
I own a white classic, white wheels, white handles, its all white LOL
Anyhoo, someone stole my sti8 replica bonnet scoop and damaged the bonnet, so i have been looking for a bonnet, well, i just bought a black bonnet with sti 8 scoop
The bonnet
I saw a pic of banny`s impreza and liked it, but then the missus pointed out he has black wheels/boot and spoiler to mix the blackness in etc
so, having a total white car, will it look crap/chavvy ?
suppose when its fitted i will know, but does anyone have a totally white classic with black bonnet ?
cheers

In my opinion a black bonnet on any car that's otherwise a completely different colour looks like a half-arsed attempt that screams "I really wanted a carbon bonnet but can't afford one", regardless of the actual reasons behind it. More black (like Banny's) is needed to pull it off. Having said that, it's your car so if you think it looks okay then go with it.
Oh and the STI8 scoop looks crap on a classic in any colour

cheers for the input guys
I agree, the black is a cheap mans carbon, but theres no carbon pre-facelift ones about that are affordable at the moment.
I suppose if i fit it and hate it i can put my white one back on and sell the black one on,only paid £60 for it.
But i just hate looking at the skewiff (sp) standard bonnet scoop i have had to fit since they stole my sti8 one and the bonnet has worn where the sti8 one was so it looks horrible now.
I know alot hate the bigger scoop but as siad above, it also serves a purpose as i have the 2004 intercooler installed.
cheers

Or get the black wrapped in white.
Or even get the roof/boot/spoiler wrapped in black to match the bonnet.
I must say, scoop aside ( ) your car does look very well in all white, so I'd get the black painted or wrapped in white.

Yeah, i could get it carbon wrapped, worse case scenario, black bonnet fitted and i hate it, i could get it carbon wrapped and it would look more authentic as it began black, as carbon bonnets are black underneath.
If i wrapped a white bonnet i think it would look funny being carbon on the outside, then you lift the bonnet and its white etc
we`ll see, i`ll put pics up once i fit it and we can all chuckle together LOL
(the missus has promised if it looks cack she wont drive the car, so thats a bonus) :-)

Personally I think it looks great in white....very very clean but if you fancy a change do it, you can always change it back to all white at a later date if you don't like it.

Ah well, looks like this isnt happening now as the seller i won it from (yesterday) has said his dog has knocked it over and scrapped it up against the brick wall, yawn !
i hate ebay, it went for £60, maybe he wants more for it, maybe he is telling the truth, either way,his camera doesnt work to prove it and i dont want to drive the journey to prove him right/wrong
the search continues for a bonnet LOL

I'd lose the bonnet vent mate, the Blobeye only just gets away with it but it looks ridiculous on a Classic IMHO. I'd also either paint the wheels Anthracite or Gloss black or replace them altogether. A black bonnet on a non black car looks like a cheap repair job mate.
As for the colour coded handles, looks superb!

I think it look great - if you want to mix in some black you'll have to do a few bits and getting the balance right so it doesn't look like a Ripspeed ram raid wouldn't be easy

Yes,still got the car and this is what it looked like a few weeks ago, i have now reduced the main scoop back down to its original one (in black) but you get the idea of the small black adjustments i made to try and blend it all in ,it now has tinted bumper indicators as well LOL
