Just thought I'd show a "before and after" pic of the work I've done on my Hawkeye STI engine bay. Not a show car, but a nice difference from when I first opened the bonnet!
BEFORE
AFTER
Nice and clean anyway!

Nice car, ditch the crappy red corrugated hosing stuff though.
And replace it with what? i couldn't find anything else so if you know of anything better I would be glad to hear. The hoses the conduit is on are the ones that have metal tubes fused to them so unable to remove and replace with something else.
Love blacks Hawks. Engine looking clean, what did you use to clean it?
Tried loads of different stuff mate but it didn't shift the oil and grease much so used brake and clutch cleaner on a cloth and toothbrush and various other brushes for that which came off easy. I then hosed engine bay down and used Meguiars engine clean followed by Meguiars engine dressing. Inlet manifold was cleaned with swarfiga oil and grease remover when it was removed to put on the induction hose. pain in the backside job it was to clean! To be honest none of the branded cleaners really did a great job and I ended up using a large selection.
Prefer the engine bay before thoughh, can't stand that plastic trunking stuff. Looks like I'm in a serious minority though.
I don't like it much myself mate but I didn't know what else to replace those hoses with? As said before they are the hoses that have metal tubes fued to them so not sure if I can remove them and what to replace with? If anybody has any info I would love to hear as I would like to get shot of the ****ty red conduit as well - but at least it's clean for the time being!
What did you use to clean up the alternator and air on pump mate
I just got some brake & clutch cleaner spray, sprayed it on to a cloth and wiped the alternator & air con pump over with it - took all the oil & grease right off. Don't spray it directly on them. I used a toothbrush and a little detailing brush for the hard to reach places and wipe off with microfibre cloth or old rag.
