I have also been lucky to watch the build.
If you see it in the flesh, get on your knees and look under the rear of the car !!!!!!. You will then see what a work of art it is.

I'm sure it's a work of art mechanically, but looks-wise not a patch on the original
.... and that spoiler simply looks hideous

Looks better than the original in every way.
I don't like hatches but the GS2 is something else.

That silly spoiler creates over 300kg of downforce at 160mph.
It's a proper racer car with proper race engineering. GS1 was basically an 850bhp Tarmac spec rally car.

It's true what you say, Matt's design is all functional. Looks and appearance become secondary to achieve the optimum. The whole car has been designed for handling hence how low everything is underneath.
The underside really is a work of art!
