Default Modifications...

Hi guys, iv joined the club recently and would like to start making a few mods to my car. Now im on abit of a budget so my question is whats the best way to get my car quick on a low budget?

I was thinking a 3inch system with an upgraded fuel pump, air filter and a remap...am i thinking along the right lines??

Also was wondering if anyone could recommend me a good oil for a quick oil change.

Many Thanks.

Put a bit more info about your car (model, year etc.) and it`ll make it easier for the experts to help you out Sounds good so far though

They are the ideal first power mods. On a wrx you should see around 270bhp.

I'd go for one of the recognised tuner/suppliers 'power packs' e.g. Powerstation, Scoobyworld etc. Get it all done in one hit in one place.

As for air filters most people go Green/Cosworth/K & N - fuel pump wise the Walbro 225 is a popular choice.

Where are you based?

I have a Walbro fuel pump and HKS filter in my Hawkeye STI, I also have a HKS turbo back 3' inch system, prodrive 3 port boost solenoid and open source remap. When dynoed it made 342/362.

If your in the Middlesex area I would surgest you give Richard at FB Tunning a call. He looks after a large amount of the MSOC cars.

So far iv just purchased a front splitter which was delivered last week, a set of Tein springs also delivered last week. Will be getting a walbro Fuel pump this week, and most probably go for a japspeed 3" turbo back exhaust as its in budget.

Do you know where i can get a cosworth panel filter? or is there another filter worth going for?

Thanks.

Was thinking about the Tein springs myself but decided to wait and get a set of coilovers next year.
As far as the filter goes I have a HKS one which is good but frOm what I saw when looking around they are all very similar and a lot to choose from I.e. Green, k&n, do luck, the list goes on..
Personal choice really as to where u go. My advice would be to ask you tuner/mapper as to what they have used on your type of car before. I have always found personal recomendations to be a good source of info.

As Ash said the choose is yours and try talking to Rich FB Tuning or power Engineering if your local to Uxbridge. P E are very much under rated by some but all the time I go there, there always is a Scooby or an Evo getting worked on compared to back in the day when they used to just specialize in Fords. Japspeed exhaust turbo back system is cheap and cheerful, got one on mine but make sure you get if from group buy not direct like I did and had to pay £100 more.

We always used P.E back in the day was like a second home to the Mex whilst trying to get the 55's running right! They were very good, then a few cars went bang with work they had done but with no explanation or compensation they had a few bad write ups and lost a lot of business and became very quiet.

As Budge has said it is now under new management and have been down with my mate and his S14 and his Dad's Liner and was very impressed and now the word is they are getting there again.

BUT I will only be using the FBTUNING!
