McRae Gathering Handover 09/08/09 - Midlands Convoy?
Here's the original thread up in General:
https://www.scoobynet.com/scoobynet-...-handover.html
and the McRae gathering website:
McRae Gathering
So who's up for convoying down to this? It's at CHESTER RACECOURSE, Chester, Cheshire, the venue which Colin won his last title. And should be a great day to attend.
It's a good few months away but I'd like to see if there's anyone in the Midlands interested in going. We can sort a meet point out closer to the time...
Cheers,
1. Tom

Stu,
It,s a tuffy mate, i,ve always wanted a RS500 Cosworth mate, i,ve had millions of cossies and i do love them, ok yes they,re old rust boxes alot of them, BUT you can,t beat 450bhp+ in a rear wheel drive Stu...
There,s no Subaru imo that has this much road presence...
We,ll see..........

That's cool mate, you got a good 40 miles further to go than most of us!
Still looking for a meet point for a convoy for this, I'm guessing as it's pretty much M6 all the way, one of the service stations?
Give me some feedback guys cos my geography is poor at best
P.S Hope you're bringing the 22b along Mark

there is a big retail park just off junction 9 with ikea and a few other shops on it will be quiet in the morning so that could be a ideal meeting poin if not Hilton Park services are another 14 mile up the m6 just passed the m54 junction depending on which way you want to go to chester

I am up for tagging on to Convoy. Only 10 miles from Chester though but know of a few cars in the area that may do the same.

That's the list so far, so any idea where the best place for us midlanders to meet up before travelling up to Chester? Somewhere central to all of us would be best really, without having to travel too far out of the way.
Suggestions please!

hi all
Are you planning on coming up the M54 Telford, Shrewsbury and Wrexham on A483? or up M6 and M56?
I am in Wrexham so A483 suits me and only 15 mins in to centre of Chester.
Just to warn you traffic is usually bad in Chester, not sure about Sundays but with a good turnout expected I would not leave it too late.

Yeah a route going down the M54 then up the A483 would be pretty cool, especially if we get more people going. According to Google Maps it will take the same amount of time as going up the M6 etc. Gotta sort out meeting points though.
