Default Adding to deeds of your home ?

Im just in the process of buying an outbuilding and land adjacent to my house.

I will obviously need it putting on the deeds of my house, but do you still have to go through a solicitor or can you do it just through the land registry ?

I have been on the LR website and cant really seem to find any info.

Any info appreciated.

Pay for the solicitor, it will be peace of mind and won't cost as much as a house purchase.

If it's not in London then I don't think it matters

you can register through land registry, Its not a complicated process, But a solicitor is worthwhile, just incase of any disagreements,

BUT if its all friendly i would:

1. Buy a ordance survey map
2. Mark out what is going to be sold in red
3. sign and date (both parties)
4. Keep a copy
5. fill in the forms for land registry and send off the cheque (about 125 quid)
6. wait!

They dont move fast, i been enquiring about some land for about 2 years and not got anywhere!

or find a local RICS surveyor to give you a hand?

Expect to pay about £500 maybe bit less if you know someone local and cash lol!

Do you need or want it linking to your house?

I bought a two acre field several years ago but kept it separate to the house.
If the mortgage goes **** up at least I have some land to put a caravan on...

Aye....

I never thought about keeping it seperate..There is no real need to have it with the house, but would be tidier i guess as the outbuilding is attatched to one we already own.

Everything is friendly and there will be no hiccups hopefully...Just a straight transaction..

I cant find any info of forms needed on website, guess its better to call and ask...old stylee..
