Default Sunny beach, anyone been?

After some recommendations (or not) of Sunny Beach, I'm very close to booking for next August. Obviously being in Summer holidays it isn't cheap and being a relatively unknown destination for me and mine, I'd like to hear other opinions of the place before committing.

There will be two families of four going, children's ages range from 5-15.

It's party central of Bulgaria so 18-30 I suggest you watch a program that was in channel 4 think it was called what happens in sunny beach, but it's no way a family holiday lol

Yep I watched it on TV about 4 months ago(?).... It was defiantly NOT a family resort.... it's one of those lads/girls group holidays where people only go to sleep during the day and party all night, not to mention the sex that people are on the look out for.

Similar sort of program to 'Magaluf Weekender' and 'Sun, Sex, and Suspicious Parents', although Sunny Beach seemed a lot more hardcore.

There may be some nicer hotels though aimed at families a bit further away from "the strip".

Looks like you're going to have to go & check it out by yourself first too see if it's completely suitable.

From what I saw on TV it is not a place for a family holiday, try somewhere else cookstar.

I wouldn't go there if you paid me! As mentioned, probably not a family holiday resort.

Sunny Beach has been shelved for now. I'm going to save that for our yearly works jolly.

Sharms leading the way. Hot hot hot though.

We've just got back from 2 weeks in Sharm and it was amazing. So good we're going to go back to the same hotel next year.

Myself, my wife and 2 boys aged 7 and 9 and the hotel was perfect.
We went with another family who stayed there last year and wanted to go back again (always a good sign)

The staff could literally not do enough to help you.

It was hot, anwhere from 35 - 42 but it doesn't feel overwhelming, there's always a ncie breeze and you're never too far from a nice cool dip in the pool!!

That's good to hear. Everyone I speak to that's been there raves about it.

Can't wait.
