Finally going after promising myself for years.
Got two tickets for Saturday and want to drive down Friday night except getting cheap/reasonable priced accommodation near by (preferably less than an hour away) is proving a little hit and miss any one down that way got any tips/recommendations or anyone been before with tips/recommendations ???

dam you have left it late most places round here are sold out mths in advance.
have you tried the travelodge's round here there is one in chichester, fontwell, portsmouth.
there is a hilton in fontwell/binsted.

thank's b road got it sorted now staying just south of Basingstoke hopefully nice blast across the south downs to goodwood in the AM

you will have a very good day out its a "must do" event even if its just the once.
plan on getting there early as trust me the roads are mayhem i'm lucky as my daughter works for goodwood house so i get to go every yr but the traffic is mental at times.

you can get into carpark for around 6 then gates open at 7 i really would try and get there as early as possable mate, i only live 10 mins away and i normaly get there for around 6:30 ish.
today the traffic was over 7 miles backed up by 9 comeing from midhurst way (from the north).

Hi Broad blaster

Got in remarkably easily at about 8 o'clock we came across the Downs From South Wanborough and approached via Kennet hill.

Had a brilliant day very friendly helpful staff at Goodwood illustrated by the way they managed to return my Mobile phone when it fell off the roof of my car on the way out !!!.

A kindly sole had handed it in to parking staff, after ringing it from another mobile an extremely helpful member of staff directed us back via a shortcut to another gate and stood there waiting for us to hand over the phone

so a good day was had by all then.
lucky about the phone mate bet you thought that was gone for good !!.
suprised about the trafiic kennal hill is normaly one of the busy routes in down past the horse track.
its allways a good show its just hard to get round it all in one day tho.
