Poor old Rolf
I thought I must have missed the Rolf Harris verdict so I checked.
Jury now on its 8th day of deliberations
Might as well toss a coin

On the face of it sounds like he was a right old perv and deserves a spell at Her Majesties pleasure to think about what he's done but on the other hand it could be a media hyped storm in a tea cup. Either way his career is essentially over but as he's already made his millions so no loss. May as well **** off back to Oz

Guilty. On to the next one.
What I do worry about is what resources are being pumped into these retrospective cases.
I mean I'd rather it be focused on current predatory peadoes rather than one that messed about 40years ago and to all intents is doubtful to do it again due to their age, unlike one that is currently active today, where evidence is still fresh.

I don't understand why one of the girl's had an affair with him for years at a legal age then many years later reported it. (the under age bit of the relationship that is).
Something needs to change and I dont have a clue what.

Nice to abuse you, to abuse you nice???
Shame about Rolf as he was a personable character. If I was the judge I would set the term at 8 years for a younger man and halve that for an 80 year old with the rest suspended. So a couple of years in pokey which he might survive.
Rolf certainly crossed the line but I am not convinced by some of the 60 something year old woman who got touched up 40 years ago at a dance and claimed it ruined their lives. For right or wrong the sexual climate was a lot more relaxed in that era.

He's been convicted of sexually abusing a 7 year old girl ffs. He should go down for a very long time for that.

I honestly don't really know how to take the Rolf verdict - especially as Aus and prob the BBC now are erasing all trace of him ever existing.... you can't take away the fact that he was a fabulous broadcaster, artist, entertainer & musician over many, many, years - has all that gone? I think not - yes he's been judged wrong by court, but should you literally write off everything he has done in the last 50 years? He painted the Queen FFS!, so was obviously held in very high regard... I mean he was no Jimmy Savile was he - everyone thought he was genuinely a freak even years ago - really don't think you can say the same about Rolf?
Genuine Question BTW!
