Default Dog friendly places to stay in the Lake District

Me and the missus are wanting to go to the Lakes in a couple of weeks and I want to take my two year old GSD

The normal place we stay in Ambleside don't allow dogs, camping's not really an option.

So anyone got any suggestions?

Low Briery nr Keswick lets you take dogs, I haven't stayed there personally but a friend of mine does.

Last week I stayed in Derwent Manor Apartments, about a mile outside of Keswick. Only paid for a one-bed apartment but they gave us a two-bed cottage for the same price (£55 per night). It wasn't fancy accommodation by any means but a lovely location and they allow dogs for an extra £6.50 a night.

depends how long you want to stay for?

i use a number of self catering agencies to book self catering for a week some like welcome cottages dont charge for dogs some do. welcome cottages can also be booked through the dogs trust and they make a donation to the dog trust

also which part of the lakes do you want to go to?

We've stayed here with our Springer a couple of times.

A bit out of the way in terms of night-life, but great walking in all directions
