Default Weather forecast

How on earth do they get it so wrong, and in some cases soooo wrong?

This morning it was set to be......

0900 14deg sun
1200 19deg sun
1500 21deg sun
1800 20 deg sun
All 4 mph wind

An hour later after looking at the cloud still being fairly present as predicted at 0700, it's now.......

1200 18deg cloudy
1500 21deg cloudy
1800 20deg cloudy
All 7 mph wind

Yet they predict well over a week in advance yet they can't get it right for what's happening in the next hour!

Unusually windguru completely missed out rainfall in our area yesterday.

You can't rely on the weather eh, nowadays

I use WeatherPro; usually very good but it's missed loads of rain recently. On four "dry" days this month, it's pi553d it down.

Muahahahahahahahahaha.

And these are the same wnakers that expect us to believe that they know what is going to happen in twenty-five years due to so-called "climate change".

Convince the public about climate change then tax the hell out of them for almost everything while pretending to be green. Ideal.

Exactly.

Did you know that climate change is now taught in schools science as a matter of fact, and no alternative view is allowed?

Even religion, or Darwin doesn't do that.

Climate is simply the macro trend but still intrinsically linked to the micro changes that are weather.

Do you ever stop?

Anyways, you're all more than welcome to have a shot at predicting the weather if you think you could do a better job.

Indeed, but I'm quite sure they are not predicted in the same way.

I doubt they use the same tools to predict wind speed in the next hour, to say the climate in the next 50 years.

You are comparing apples with oranges.

They are both based on trends.

Think of weather as tactics in a war, climate as strategy.

I don't know what they predicted here today, but the day has been glorious so far. I stopped by at this, on the way back from one of my work locations>

http://i1.trekearth.com/photos/92905..._falls_jpg.jpg

Again, an unmanned place where you're trusted to pay .40p through a slit in the wall, and then just go and get soaked naturally near the foot of the fall. It was soul satisfying. I walked up a bit to the head of the fall, but then I needed to leave to another work place.

it was soul satisfying.

for the last 4 days the forecast has said it's going to rain, not seen a spot so far I'm not complaining about no rain, just crap forecasting

climate change is a load of bollocks, it's the natural cycle of our planet. it's just and excuse to charge us stupid taxes

Seriously, I was spellbound; it was so beautiful to look at, and to feel its cool spray on my sun-baked skin! It was like finding a treasure in the middle of nowhere! I'm out that way 4 days a week these days. I'll occasionally stop there now. A nice little remote cafe there as well, to buy a cuppa and a Welsh tea cake.

Was just gonna ask where you work. But you've answered that one already, so next question. Where abouts in. Wales?

All I'm saying is, just because the weather forecast was wrong on the 11 July 2014, doesn't mean we should dismiss all scientific research into climate change (as alcazar suggests).

By the way, to any sceptics, who exactly benefits from this 'myth' being pedalled about climate change? Please don't say it's a way to rake in more taxes. Pretty sure the damage done to big business my such policies would outweigh the taxes pulled in.

Renewables are great but in the meantime the climate change lobby, like the anti nuclear before them, and the anti frackers after them, have made us more reliant on our neighbours

And the prices they dictate

Correct. Referring to the said location as simply the nice bit won't be justified, as it's not just the bits, in fact the majority of the area in nice.

F.A.O Neil:

The area is rural Denbighshire in North Wales. The soul satisfying falls that I talked about are in a place called Dyserth.

Someone told me that according to the weather news, it was going to be banging hot and dry here in North Wales this weekend. Guess what, it's been banging hot alright during the week, but it has been absolutely p7ssing down today, like no one's business! That's my grass cutting postponed again today. Sucks, man.

Was supposed to be dry here up till 5 PM, we had the heaviest rain I've seen for years (******* moonsoon TBH) around 9 AM.

Glad I ignored the forecast and didn't put the washing out to dry now.

Yes, similar to Indian Monsoon, Dunk. Showers laden with huge droplets lashing down mercilessly! They looked like 1970 style bead curtains with big, tacky, oval plastic shapes hanging down.

I have my washing to dry as well, and now I'll have to use stupid dryer function, which I hate.
