I wear them pretty much all the time the sun is out, never go anywhere without them in daylight hours.
I like Sj above used to drive a lot so a good quality pair that work are essential. Nothing worse than squinting all day as it gives me a splitting headache for which the only cure is two paracetamols and bed. I became used to wearing them all the time so my eyes are a bit light sensitive and I continue to wear them all the time, also stops dust being blown in your eyes and crows feet/wrinkled brow, I'm 48 and most people think I'm mid to late 30's which I think is because I don't look like a prune due to not squinting all the time.
I like a nice pair of lightweight wrap arounds, Arnette are my current faves, i'm on my third pair, they look a bit like the ones Will is wearing above.

Iv got a mate with defective eyes, he apparently genuinely can't shut his eyes quick enough ( pupils)
But I wonder how we survived before sunglasses, were there lots of damaged people??
I've hardly ever bothered

Because I'm in the sea a lot without any eye protection, I tend to try and look after them at other times.
A mate of mine who is a surf instructor has completely ruined eyes - always deeply bloodshot with all sorts of issues.
As for "cool" - naaaah, they usually look a bit try hard.

I have quite sensitive eyes - and wear them quite a lot
especially windsurfing and skiing and driving
but I think they do become addictive - that is if you wear them a lot you sort of get used to it and then they become necessary and somewhat of a burden
so I have tried not to be quite so dependant on them - unless I really need them

Aren't there all sorts of side effects from wearing sunglasses? They block out benficial light from entering the body through the eyes, fool our body clock into thinking it isn't daytime, and even increase the chance of sunburn because your body doesn't get the message that it's sunny!
Only things I have read over the years, and on the basis that Mother Nature didn't fit eye shades as standard, I think I'll pass.

I where them to keep the sun out of my eyes, or more usually when I'm on the bike to keep muck & flies out. I hit a bee at speed once, just to the side of my eye, not fun
I'm an overweight, half-blind, balding middle aged bloke, it's going to take more than a pair of sunglasses to make me look cool

Ha, I'm the only one that chose as a prop!
Only joking.
I very rarely take mine out of the car. I race RC and I'll wear them on a sunny day but hate racing with them on.

I normally wear them for work reasons though, useful for spotting other air traffic when the suns blinding you. But still use them occasionally in the car too, very rarely use them out of a vehicle tbh.

No! I'm not OTT about it at all, and I certainly never preach. But people seem to grill me about certain things. Like when they find out I don't have milk or dairy etc they go on and on about it, and want to know why. Then they get all argumentative about my reasons, but I never told them they should do what I do!
