Why the hell did a profit making concern - the AA - get second billing behind the Queen herself in the Jubilee parade? Worth a fortune in advertising terms, someone in the palace must have got a big payoff to arrange that one.

I think that you will find when the Jubilee celebrations were being planned two years ago, the Queen stated that the FIVE MILLION pound cost should NOT be funded by the taxpayer (which I think is very good of her). The cost was therefore paid by sponsors (such as the AA).

I assume that the sponsors were not doing this for their own personal health and demanded a certain amount of advertising in return........

All profits raised are going to charities of the Queens choosing!
