War, what is it good for?
A question came to mind when reading another thread, " Perpetual War" not being much of a history buff with regards chronological order, I thought I'd see if you guys could help put it together.
So the question.
Has there ever been a time in history when we have not been at war.
Seems to me like for as far back as I can recall mankind has been fighting wars, whether they be out and out "declared" War in more recent times or some involvement in other nations wars, or just generally going around the world poking the natives with a sword.
Will we ever stop wanting to kill each other to make our point or some money.
So the question.

Reminds me of Blackadder
Baldrick: The thing is: The way I see it, these days there's a war on, right? and, ages ago, there wasn't a war on, right? So, there must have been a moment when there not being a war on went away, right? and there being a war on came along. So, what I want to know is: How did we get from the one case of affairs to the other case of affairs?
Edmund: Do you mean "Why did the war start?"
Baldrick: Yeah.
George: The war started because of the vile Hun and his villainous empire-building.
Edmund: George, the British Empire at present covers a quarter of the globe, while the German Empire consists of a small sausage factory in Tanganyika. I hardly think that we can be entirely absolved of blame on the imperialistic front.

I am guessing it depends on which country you are from, if it's the USA then they need war to keep their troops busy as they will get funded while in combat plus the other things that come from it, destroying buildings means they can then rebuild then too and so on...if you are on the receiving end I don't think there are many pluses.

The first is that wars are, at times, just; a necessary evil. The second is the more sinister war, a kind unjust and which is simply evil. The latter in its worst guise is a hoax, a means by which the controlling elite can marshall the remaining 99% to some kind of order. The war on 'terror' is absurd! You can't defeat 'terror' (just as one can't defeat drugs in that other 'war') - so we're left with an endless tit for tat between one gaggle of sociopaths and another. Well I say ignore it and ignore them. It's a nonsense and so are they. Enjoy life, you don't need protection from the state, there are, in reality, very few bogey men.
We will oneday live in peace, I firmly believe the meek shall inherit this beautiful planet. War is not peace - don't believe the hype!

#2 injustice ( persecution land grab ethnic cleansing etc)
#1 religion ( my imaginary god is better than yours etc )
Its the way of the world, we are programed from school church history etc and we go along with it , when it is so wrong on all accounts. Life is to short and even sorter for the brainwashed from the government, media or religion

It seems we all accept it as just the way it is.
I don't think there has ever been a time in history where there wasn't some sort of war going on somewhere.
Mankind is doomed it would seem, with all our supposed intelligence and superiority over all other life on this planet, it would seem we are happier to allow mankind to suffer and kill one an other than see animals harmed for food.
What a strange species we are.
