I think I can explain.

Russia Today is a state-sponsored version of Fox News. If you believe it's a reputable source of fact then you need to put down the internet and step away from it.

Don't see why this can't be true - Putin is talking about financing from private individuals, not governments.
Putin: “I provided examples based on our data on the financing of different Islamic State units by private individuals. This money, as we have established, comes from 40 countries and, there are some of the G20 members among them,” Putin told the journalists.

Exactly, just like the terrorists themselves are citizens of G20 member countries. Just another example of the headline being misleading without reading the full article properly.

Saudi Arabia is one of the G20 members. It's well known that wealthy individuals there are funding IS. Also arms sold by UK, US and France to many Gulf States seem to end up in the hands of IS somehow. Putin is no fool, he's enjoying the discomfort caused by telling it like it is.

Hmm, so let's have a think about this. Is Russia a G20 member? Yes. Does Russia supply the Syrian regime with large amounts of its military equipment, and have quite large amounts of Syrian regime military equipment been captured by IS? Yes.

So tell us again what it is exactly that Putin (and apparently you also) are sitting back smirking to yourselves about?

Yes, of course, to all of the above. Obviously. How does that let Saudi Arabia off the hook?
