Default Torque vs hp

So question for you .. all this talk of power BHP etc ..

I've got a diesel, I use it for motorways and to be fair it's decent. 3l Audi A6 allroad.

I've been told I will jump from 240 - 285 with an increase of around 100NM of torque .. after a stage 1 remap and a new sports filter (cone I think)

Regardless of the car, am I likely to notice any real difference? when I had my impreza mapped by JGG to be honest I didn't really notice anything and it went from 215 to 280 with the small mods.

All I can assume is the mods had given me a substantial increase pre-map, so I was used to it.

Aye, JGM was a legend too and others described it was night and day.

Hoping this will give me a big smile, close to 300BHP isn't bad.

My old impreza went from 270/80 to 320 and although i didn't "notice" a difference at first , i realised the power delivery had changed completely. Before mapping the turbo used to kick in and you got the boost sensation. After mapping the turbo spooled sooner and smoother so lost the boost kicking in sensation which made it feel not much quicker. But it definitely was.
On a deisel it will be similar , alot smoother power delivery with sooner spooling of the turbo. You may not "feel" that it's quicker , but pit it against a standard one and you'll "see" the difference in your mirrors

My BMW has around 500lb of torque but it's no where near on par with my Impreza when it only had 500lbs but then my Impreza had a couple of hundred bhp more .

A lot of torque can be added by making it richer, but that at some point will hit smoke limits. If those are increased too much in the pursuit of torque, you will clog your DPF. You can add some boost to try to counteract this.
