Default Hottest day of the year so far!!

How many more "hottest days of the year" are we going to get this year? How many more "heatwaves" are we going to get?

Too be fair, I do feel like I'm melting working outside and I envy anyone who's sat in a nice air conditioned office right now!

Melting is what's happening😂

I work from home now, and it's so much better than being stuck in a stuffy and sweaty office.

Windows open, cool breeze blowing in and a freezer with a box or two of delicious Ice creams. Luckily my home office doesn't get much direct sunlight blasting in.

This stop complaining. Air conditioned or not, office jobs suck.

Love a hot day just a pity I was indoors all stripping out lighting and transformers onsite and generally overheating. Nice to get home though and enjoy it

Well if you are interested in climate science

last Month, June, was the hottest month (globally) in the instrumental record

And in fact each of the the last 9 months has been the hottest in the instrumental record

So April was the hottest April, March the hottest March and so on

the Arctic is currently recording unbelievably high tempuratures

I've spent too much time in very hot countries and actually prefer cool, cloudy days in the UK, about 18 - 20c is perfect for me. I guess I'm in the minority though!

Office Inside 25degrees

Outside 31degrees

Receptionist opens the window to get a "cool breeze" when there's a air conditioner behind her that she switched off earlier.

I can deal with heat, it's high humidity that kills me (Kuala Lumpur was like a steam oven during the day).

39 deg here yesterday, still 33 deg when I went to bed at 1045.
Difficult night even with the window open and a fan going.

30 degree nights are an absolute nightmare, literally. I also had a fan on but makes no difference.

I've got a couple of mobile air con units in my egg stores and I thought of nicking one of those.... Only trouble is ducting to the outside. Sticking through the window is no good because it needs to be sealed.

Apart from the poor sod with the dodgy HP switch....he'll have to swelter for a few days until TPS get one in stock.

They're a couple on Facebook that make videos like the above, acting dumb for entertainment purposes. Although I'm pretty sure that half the people who watch those videos think that they're being serious.

I guess this is the way it works , if the uk is noticeably dull and damp and chilly than youd hope for the season , its a sure sign the world is heating up

I don't mind it now I'm home in shorts and a tshirt watching the boy in his paddling pool with a nice cold ipa (me not the boy). Not much fun at work though, too much for me, however on radio 2 earlier, they said it was 52°c in basra!

Coldest, wettest June since 1976 in France. First week of July wasn't much better. Three years ago it was the coldest, wettest July on record.

Climate change? Hmmmmmmmmm

'Climate change' is rolled out whenever it's baking hot, freezing cold or unseasonably wet or dry. I almost feel guilty enough to refit the Impreza's cat.
