not sure where your getting this 5k from mate ,, couldn't build the bare engine for that money ,, wrx hatch's in standard form go for more let alone a forged sti ,,,, a breaker would offer more than 5k as I got offered a lot more when I had it up for sale by one well known breaker , nearly double in fact

Ok maybe £5k was a little harsh, but you get my drift. It doesn't matter what upgrades its got, its the desirability to customers that keeps prices strong. They are so few now of them.
High end cars(BMW/Audi/Bentley/Porsche etc) sell for ridiculous money after a few years due to being expensive to run and insure.
Subaru have had their day in performance cars, times have changed and modifying is so tiny compared to the late nineties and early 2000s. The market is so small, I don't see the numbers of Subaru's there once was. Just look at this forum, its a carcass of interest compared to it dizzy heights. No traders offer their services anymore-in fact most have probably shutdown or moved onto other marques.
I got rid of my Impreza a long time ago, in fact I gave it David@API after a tuner in Carnforth (cant remember his name) blew it up, destroying the forged engine, tuning it.
I sued him, got paid out through his insurance. The car had sat so long, I'd lost interest in it, gave it to David for his endless patience with the matter. It had PPG gear box, clutch, upgraded brakes, roll cage, ECU, wheels tyres etc and rust less shell.
Its a bit like the mid 80's when Ford were selling their Escort and Sierra Saphire Cosworths, big interest then killed off by high insurance costs. Today a mint 'original' Cosworth are a collectors item.

so you got rid of your subaru a long time ago ,, can I ask where your info is coming from on this ??? , I sell these cars all the time and sell them all over the world so I know the market very well and having sold this very car I can say I didn't have any problem selling it and had people waiting to buy it off me for months before I even thought about selling it
I think you need to catch up on what the market is like when buying a 2.5 model ,, any un forged 2.5 is currently considered a ticking time bomb so the only cars fetching good money are the ones that are already forged , and once forged people want to make full use of the money it costs to forge them
iv got a WR1 that I agree needs to be kept original for the best money
iv also got two classics , a sti type R and one of the first uk turbos released in the uk , both are original and worth more that way with how the market is now ,,, but its not the case with a hatchback due to the 2.5 it comes with in the uk
iv been member of the hatch forums for a long time so know what they expect from the car when looking to buy and one of the big things that put people off is a standard engine lol

Even AndyF with his crazy 3.6 lite setup in circa 2010
Its a long time ago now
There are pockets of interest around the world, but the UK isn't one of them in any form of strength. Australia has a strong following still, well it was when I was there a couple of years ago. Plenty to be seen around.
The only ones worth keeping original are the P1, 22B and WR1 The rest with huge power turbos mods not worth much

Im aware fully of what Subaru engines can and cant do in various setups, original closed deck sti 2.0 from Japan compared to open 2.0 european models, 2.5 open deck. Stroker 2.2 mods etc. etc
Even AndyF with his crazy 3.6 lite setup in circa 2010

your mistaken ,, clearly no clue on what the current market is like for them and just clinging to the hope the rare ones are the only ones of value lol
your talking about stuff 10 years ago like its still current lol ,, im talking about the current market ,, im not talking about open decks vs closed decks am I ,, im talking about the well known problem with the 2.5 that comes in all the uk models from hatch up , this puts people off buying the standard one , thats a fact,, even none subaru owners know about the crap 2.5 , check up on the hatch forums and group on here as iv been a member of both for years and anyone on there will tell you to buy a forged one ( go try it)
have you sold any subarus recently??? im wondering how you have come to your conclusion on this ?? ,, you mention OZ , Iv got cars iv built out there aswell ,, like I said I sell loads of Subaru's all over Europe and as far as OZ so please enlighten me on how many you have sold recently and what specs they were in ?? iv sold many high spec cars recently without any problem and got good money for them
we are not talking about weather a standard P1 is worth more than none standard , we are talking about cars that come with the 2.5 so would be hatch up just to be clear

The 2.5 arrived on the market circa 2008, its been known for a long time that the ring lands do fail and if pushed too hard for power/torque they blow up.
The car listed must be around 10 years old it ain't worth what the fella is asking.just because he's got a forged engine and bigger turbo. Modification don't increase value-period
They might help sell a car if done properly and in good taste.
Like I said Subaru has had its day in performance vehicles.

I got more for my 330s, had just turned 50k miles. It was recently forged, had a Perrin induction kit but that was it engine wise. (Well an AOS and dumpvalve, new clutch)
Otherwise it was on Tein coilovers and a few cosmetic mods.
In my mind it was worth more but ultimately we all think that.
I think 15k for this one is quite cheap in comparison. You never get your money back on mods etc but at 15k the seller definitely won't be ! A "basic" forge and new Exedy clutch (as in no other upgrades like turbo or fuel pump etc) cost me £5.5k. I'd hate to think how much was spent on this car.
so if you use mine as an example, this one is cheap.

I sold this car just over a year ago and didn't have any problems selling it and got a good price for it so your argument doesn't stand really does it lol,,, explain to me why I had soooo many poeple asking to buy it from me ???
granted Luke hasn't done the best advert but can't see why it won't sell ,,its already sold once but the dealer messed him around ,, saying mods dont increase value is plain horse ****,,a well modded car will be worth more than its standard counterpart until it reaches classic form which the hatchback hasn't yet ,,, this might be the case with older cars that are classed as classic but its not the case with cars like the hatchback as its not classed as old enough yet for poeple to be worried about it being original ,,, so the market is strong for the forged ones and super weak for the unforged ones as you can't give them away
still not answered me on how many of these cars you sell ?? ,, or is it just a opinion of someone who doesn't sell these cars and hasn't sold one in years and hasn't got a clue about the current market lol

if you understood my reasons for selling that piticular car you would understand why I wouldn't be interested in buying it back ,, I won't go into details but I lost my best mate and Subaru'ing partner to cancer so the car had to go ,,, thats my only reason for selling it ,,, even the likes of Tiff Needell and Paul woodman of the lovecars series have driven the car and have said what a amazing car it is and how well it drives ,, can you say the same about anything you have ever built ????

If you had read earlier I said I gave away my Subaru to Api years ago. I don't bother with Subaru anymore, as has most other folk too. We have all moved onto other things. Me its Tesla Model S and Model 3
Shame you didn't keep the car as homage to your pal, there again most folk buy a new dog when the old one ceases.
Still stand by my comment, it ain't worth what he is asking, not for a 10yr old vehicle. Selling it on ebay with a reduced price comment says a lot about the level of interest.
I'll keep my beady little eye on its progress-not
