All..

Gotta take the wifey out for a birthday dinner in a couple weeks and I'm looking for something a little different, bored of the usual Italian/Chinese etc etc

Anybody got any ideas in the SE, about 60miles circumference around gatwick, so that means...

Brighton
Guildford
Croydon
Bromley
Farnborough
etc etc

Cheerio

Thumbs up

1 Paston Place is probably the best restaurant in Brighton. Contemporary French type food, expensive though, about 100 quid for two, inc. drinks. Worth it IMHO, especially for a special occasion.

Also, Gravetye Manor, near East Grinstead is supposed to have one of the best restaurants in the country. Similar food to above, but possibly even more expensive!

Mirabelle in Eastbourne. Top nosh. Very special. Stay the night. Change from a monkey (probably/maybe).

Commission to the usual address.

How about the OXO tower ? ( nr Waterloo )

Eat in the brasserie as the food is 90% the same as the restaurant, but 2/3rds the price. Need to book though.
