I saw the dreaded flashes in my rear view on saturday
They came as I was accelerating away from the bloody thing,I checked the speedo and it was reading under 80.
Question is, I think I was outside the road markings when flashed, does this make any difference?
Also, could a car on the other carriageway have triggered the GATSO, cos I have passed through this one at a similar speed before with no flash.
Do I just prepare for the worst?

Cheers! I think it flashed twice, one to get my attention the other that I caught in the mirror
I am going on holiday on wed so if there is no NIP when I return I should be OK, I will try not to think about it during my hol's

Rift's right in that most cameras dont have film. The lines, however are for calibration purposes and if you were outside them at the time of the flashes then you cannot be prosecuted as there is no way of checking the speed given is correct ( stated case on this i believe) dont worry if ur outside the lines and dont worry anyway, just enjoy ur hols!!! pumpers.

If you were acclerating hard it might not do you anyway. They can only do you if the speed is constant (with a tolerance) through out the measuring period, otherwise it's dismissed as spurious reading.

CT - could be bad news - I have heard that Grampian Police have adjusted all their cameras to be strictly 10% +2pm over the limit, which means on a dual carriageway they'll go off at 79mph.
However, if you were beyond the lines at the time they went off, it's unlikely you'll hear any more.

I think it would be Tayside Police, it was near the turn off for Marykirk,, south of Laurencekirk. I hope there was no film in it, I'll find out when I get back from hol's anyway.
